Curious times. (Day 1 mid morning, Alisters lab)

Alister looked over the datapad that had arrived by courier the day before. Common sense told jim that such things were better left alone, still he couldn't help his curiosity. Moving to his computer bank he started to attach the necessary wiring to try and decrypt the scrambled data.

Hopefully it would prove to be a fruitful use of his time.

OOC: Hard Computers check with a setback due to encryption, seems Imperial military grade. Flip a Destiny to upgrade to 1 red and 2 purple.

Military? That was interesting, and it was maybe a clue as to why it had come his way. His brow knit in concentration, Alister began his work, It'd be a time consuming process, but eventually he would succeed. What other outcome could there be?

Hard Computers with a setback and destiny flip. Using a destiny to counter, lab computers remove one setback: 3eP+2eA+2eD+1eC 4 successes, 1 advantage

The data is Imperial movements of troops and supply chains and logistics easily classified materials that appear to be stolen data obviously. Interestingly he can determine that whoever did this wanted it to look like Republic SIS protocols but that is a ruse this was an inside job and after looking at the data can ascertain it deals with movements of supplies away from Ziost… supplies and equipment that should be here supporting the native forces redirected to the outer regions, destination unknown.

Outside of that data there is application that simply says ‘Clever Man’.

Hrm... That was truly a curious thing, and part of him wanted to look into who had authorized these shipments. If he could even locate that information. It's likelyy take a bit more dogging though into pllace he probably shouldn't be looking. Getting caught would be unacceptable. Maybe finding the destination would be easier though?

In the mean time there was the application called clever man. Hrm. Was that his mysterious benefactor? Might as well open it.

A small terminal opened on the screen and an encryption algorithm began... a second later it was done.

Text appeared:

<Clever-Man> Alister, welcome.

Names? Even on a encrypted line it seemed a bit dangerous. Still it was likely as much to make a point aanything else.

<Somber Savant> it appears I was expected. I hope I didn't keep you waiting.

<Clever-Man> It isn’t like I had to stay glued to my screen, that is what notifications are for.

<Clever-Man> The data is yours to deal with it, or do nothing. It is immaterial to me.

<Clever-Man> I already know where it came from.

The first comment made whoever this clever man was seem young. Which really wasn't all that surprising.

<Somber Savant> Passing along the things you no longer need. Intresting.

<Somber Savant>It's quite polite of you, but I can't help but think that charity is not your only motivation here

<Clever-Man> Smart man, I am recruiting like minded individuals that want to see a better future free from the tyranny of... mystical monks

<Clever-Man> You have passed the first step.

Well, that was interesting and rather seditious talk. Still Alister had to admit most Sith were more of a problem then a asset for Imperial society.

<Somber Savant> An interesting proposition. A dangerous one too. I should likely ask what benefits would exist in aiding your cause."

<Somber Savant> As well as what the next task might be.

<Clever-Man> Wealth, power, the fact you will know things that no one else will, we offer a fairly comprehensive package of benefits I assure you.

<Clever-Man> Hungry for more?

<Clever-Man> There is always work for capable and reliable people. You seem capable. But are you reliable?

Hrm, that was indeed tempting and well he was rather bored. Certainly there was risk, but really with the sith running rampant there was always risk.

<Somber Savant> As long as the benefits equal or outweigh the risk I'm more then reliable. If things turn otherwise?

<Somber Savant> Well at that point taking jobs might become difficult, but you can be certain that I wont mention my involvement in any of this.

<Somber Savant> That sounds more then fair.

Well as long as it wasn't too difficult.

<Somber Savant> Payment transferred on completion?

<Somber Savant> Delivery by standard credits transfer, or do you have some other means?

It seemed a valid question at the very least.

<Somber Savant> I'll be satisfied with whatever your usual method is.

It was a simple reply and accurate.

<Somber Savant> I think that's all my questions for the time being, I'll await further word about my next project.
