Lucinia Malveaux wrote:The eyebrow went higher up. "Lord Rath. A name that has crossed my ears more than once. How fascinating. The pleasure is mine, I'm sure."

Her pale green eyes glinted at the question. "I did, in fact. I could hardly miss the arrival of the most powerful Dark Side devotee in known history."

"Hmm. It's easy to say you could hardly miss him now. What if he'd turned up without all the fanfare?" Jo'ren scanned the room as he took a swig of the wine.

"You've heard something about me then. Tell me about you."

Hala wasn't necessarily there to hobnob, but seeing and being seen was important. More important was making an appearance since security was her current mandate. So here she was, in full dress, doing her best to be inconspicuous, inoffensive, and vigilant.

Sinea arrived in a black ensemble, not looking to stand out...too much. The black dress was far from a rob,e an elegant gown with red shoulders bare. She greeted Tayana warmly - oh your mandrakes look so lovely my dear Darth! - but let the hostess play her games and spend her time with all the other guests. Glancing around she saw some familiar faces, some less so and....was that a wolf? Wow, Tayana went all out.

She spent some time looking at the architecture and the decorations, for now, observing the other guests.

Lucinia chuckled. "Well, yes, I mean to say that I wouldn't choose to miss it." She took a sip of her wine. "Had he been coming without fanfare, I would have made some attempt anyway."

"About me?" One eyebrow went up. "That is not a question I'm often asked." She considered for a few moments, scanning the room in much the same manner he had. A brief nod as she spotted Dayana, and a curious look at the Sith she was speaking to. "I suppose I might choose to say that I'm something of a scholar of the Force. I study ancient mysteries, artifacts, tombs, that sort of thing."

For his part, Alister wore gray, or that at least was what his aide had picked for him this evening. Though there was a slight concession to color in the maroon cravat he wore, even what could be seen of his crisp white undershirt might be said to stand out, at least in this type of decoration.

Supressing the urge to sigh, he let his eyes scan the crowds. There was a solid block of Sith lords from the look of it, not that he was truly suprised. Drifting across the room he located a glass of wine, he'd likely need a few of these if he had any intention at all of making it through the next hour.

Tyr wrote:Speaking of wildlife, apparently they were letting animals in, as Tyr drifted close to the pureblood, glancing curiously at the dress. It stood out against all the black, and was rather wispy and impractical, to Tyr's mind. He grunted to Shelzais, which was about the extent of his training in being polite.

A bejeweled brow ridge arched curiously. "My, you're a new sight on this scene, aren't you?" Shelzais purred. "I confess I never cared to learn everyone's names at these things, and I've been out of the picture some time, but I know I'd remember that face."

The shistavanen gave the facial decorations a dubious look. From his appearance, he hadn't even bothered to brush his fur before showing up; if it weren't for the lightsaber on his belt, he likely wouldn't have been let in at all. "Tyr," he grunted, "apprentice to Darth Malgus," his voice was like the crunching of the bones of one's enemies underfoot, rough and gravelly. His golden eyes were bright, contrasting against his midnight black fur, that gleamed under the moody lighting. He did lower himself in a sort of bow, in deference to the pureblood's station.

"Darth Malgus..." Shelzais nibbled her full lower lip thoughtfully. "Has he found himself a literal attack hound? Oh, how perfect. He's not finally making a play for the Council, I suppose?" She seemed less interested in the specific answer to that question than in her inspection of Tyr, however. He was alarming, but he was also different, which was automatic extra credit tonight. "Well, any novelty at an event like this is a welcome one, my dear Tyr. Sek--Shelzais Sek." She gestured gracefully in the direction of her heart, showing off sharply manicured gold-painted fingernails.

"You could say that," and it would be true in a fairly literal sense, "I serve at my Master's pleasure, but no, I do not believe that Malgus has designs in that direction." Despite the apparent evidence, Tyr was clearly not brainless. He didn't seem bothered at being called a novelty. "Are you an applicant?"

"Dead Sith kings save me from that." There was a steel core to those words that belied her otherwise light manner. "No, I'd be eaten alive if I were so stupid. Really, I'd almost deserve it. I'm just here to see what happens, like most of this lot." She smiled. "At least it's not likely to be dull."

Grunting, "not my kind of entertainment." There certainly were all types mingling about, though Tyr probably stuck out the most, and not just bu his size.

"Bound to make someone nervous, watching them as intently as you are," Kristal said, Imperial Nobility reigned heavily in her accent with an edge of something more direct. Content to dress in anything that allowed her movement, so long as it was black.

Jun-Tsu Farro wrote:"Lady Jun-Tsu, of Houze Farro, your lordship," she rested a hand at her waist and bowed, the talismans and ornaments of her headdress draping, chiming as they moved against one another. In spite of her company's casual nature, the young Farro appeared more formal in her manners.

"I hawe juzt arriwed vrom mein homeplanet of Korriz to owerzee petitionz to mein Houze from zhose in zhe core vorlds of zhe Stygian Abyzz. Und, of courze, to zee zhe zeating of a new counzilor."

"Farro... Farro..."

The name was vaguely familiar.

Ah.

It took a moment to understand why.

"I believe my master has taken an interest in your house," she said.

Sinea glanced back at her companion. "My vile purpose has been unveiled by the Champion Valkyrie." She smiled with warmth and recognition. "Fancy to see you hear dear. Lord Valkyire, is it? Or Lord Serasai? Your many names are hard to keep track of."

As the two women struck up conversation, Jun-Tsu continued to scan the gardens, noting each familiar and unfamiliar face. She paused only a moment when she saw Kristal, or who Jun-Tsu thought was her. Four years, and she seemed much the same...and yet entirely different.

Her attention snapped back to Lord Nyx, "Yez, zhe haz, from vhat I hear vrom Lady Okatesh. Zhe vas kind enough to zpeak of her vellow apprenticez juzt zhiz afternoon. But zhe v'one vith zhe zkarlet eyez did draw mein attention."

"I'm sure she did," she said, "quite a curious one. As for the dark side... naturally it is mine by right of birth and tribulation. The elder witch saw what she saw in me, and now here I am."

A little fashionably late, Lord Bellious appeared dressed according to her reinvented style - black on carmine of her skin, striking some reasonable compromise between elegance and 'less is more' in her wardrobe choices. Seeing the room already bustling with conversation, she began with getting a drink. Her all-time classic, double Corellian on the rocks. As she did, she was slowly collecting the images of the social dynamics of the room.

Jan hobknobs happily, moving here and there to share a few words or a joke with all the great and powerful.

Her dress of vivid white contrasts helpfully with the Sith in the room, although every few moments it would flash up the Czerka logo and play a silent video of some great Sith moment......with some added Czerka involvement.

Did you know that humble Czerka equipment helped the Empire become what it is today? Well, the dress did!

((If anyone wants to socialise with Jan let me know :-) ))

Dino arrives with Lord Bellious, feeling distinctly uncomfortable. He is in nicer clothing, with a half cape that hides his left arm. He volunteered for the duty, playing a role that he had some experience with: being the adjunct and bodyguard of his employer. His role was not to be entertained: he was the entertainment, something for the people to gawk at. Lord Bellious had no qualms about enjoying ruffled feathers, and if he lost some scales in the process, so be it.

He remains a respectful distance away from his employer, trying to be an unobtrusive as possible for a giant lizard being, yet close enough to arrive quickly if beckoned.
