[Day 7, EA] A Meeting of the Minds

[Xal Kimlya]

After arriving at the camp and reviewing some data, Xal looked for the massassi named Giyanzi.

[Dapper Dog]

Giyanzi is sitting in a tent reading data on a datapad quietly

[Xal Kimlya]

"Giyanzi? Good afternoon. My name is Xal Kimlya." he introduced himself.

[Dapper Dog]

She rose to her full height which was considerable and she said, “My Lord, welcome.”

“You are the new researcher; I was just reading the files. The encryption on your databases need work.”

[Xal Kimlya]

"I'm sure they do, but I'm glad you've read them." he nodded. "I am curious as to your opinion of the project."

[Dapper Dog]

“it serves a purpose to inject my species with greater intellect as we purposefully bred for subservience and strength. I consider this a certain correction of what was done to us a many millennia ago,” she responded.

“Whether it will be significant in our history remains to be seen.”

[Xal Kimlya]

"There is certainly potential for significant change." he mused. "Do you feel the massassi are ready for that?"

[Dapper Dog]

"Ready is a ridiculous notion, evolution happens, it does not require our acceptance of it," she responded.

[Xal Kimlya]

"Perhaps." he nodded. "But, evolution is also not inevitable. New adaptations do not always become the dominant standard. Do you think the hybrid enhancements will survive within the massassi?"

[Dapper Dog]

"I do not know, evolution requires procreation to actually be effective," she replied.

"If the massassi resist integration the process could easily breakdown, and it would require critical mass of hybrids to properly disperse their features throughout our population."

[Xal Kimlya]

He nodded. "There has been some resistance, hasn't there?"

[Dapper Dog]

“Resistance born of ingrained ignorance and simplicity of mind, the Massassi Queen foresaw these shortcomings and for us to be a strong people we must exceed them or be bound to be beasts unleashed and discarded when the Empire no longer favors us,” she said honestly.

[Xal Kimlya]

"Hopefully, we can overcome that ignorance. Are there particular beliefs that inspire this resistance?"

[Dapper Dog]

“They hold to archaic beliefs that chain them to systems of enslavement by the Sith, those beliefs had shifted over time but they were constructed as a form of control by the Dark Jedi and the Sith that followed,” she said frowning.

“Explaining that thought is difficult.”

[Xal Kimlya]

"Is there more to it than thought?" he asked. "If they were constructed by the Dark Jedi, is it compulsion or belief?"

[Dapper Dog]

"Explain your meaning?" she responded with interest in her eyes.

[Xal Kimlya]

"The Force allows for many abilities, including the power to cloud and influence the minds of others." he explained. "Those who possess a greater mastery over such abilities can affect large masses of people. I witnessed such a thing recently. Countless people were encouraged via the Force to display open fealty and adoration. For some minds, it was clearly overwhelming."

[Dapper Dog]

"As far I am aware none of the hybrids possess the Force, though it is rare even in other species," she said in reply.

[Xal Kimlya]

"You are correct." he nodded. "But, there have been massassi with Force sensitivity. As an abstract power of the universe, the Force tends to inspire superstition and cultural beliefs. I do not know enough about the massassi to know if any of their beliefs stem from such origins."

[Dapper Dog]

"Our beliefs are defined around our role as slaves of the Dark Jedi and Sith," she said honestly.
