Dayana Valthren wrote:"There is a difference between being obtuse and needing to be convinced," Dayana stated with a sigh. She then smiled, genuinely, and shook her head. "Imperial court is an entirely different beast than the colonies."

Lucinia's green eyes narrowed. "Indeed. I suspect that it requires a lighter touch." Her tone was just a bit chillier than usual.

She waved a hand. "Nevertheless, I have done as you requested. I do hope that this does not give you the mistaken impression that you have power over me."

She had been taking notes, not bothering to speak on matters herself. She seemed like she had been quite focused on the task. And then someone approached, to interrupt her focus. She did not immediately turn to the figure. Nor responded straight away.

But, after a moment, she slowly; almost mechnically; turned to regard Kristal. And then a few more moments of staring ensued, before she actually responded.

"Aspirant Serasai," she said, "The emperor sees what he sees. As I see what I see. I witness things so that he may have a perspective not his own."

"And so I ask, what is it he sees through your perspective? How have you defined the days events, thus far, that you shall tell him," she pressed, crossing her arms over her chest.

The stubborn type

"I record what I see and hear," she said, a smile slowly creeping onto her features. "Do you worry that I might speak ill of your performance?"

"I wonder through what lens the Emperor observes the events of today," she said," To ascribe my curiosity to something as base as worry, you attempt to lessen me. I shall not be lessened."

She chuckled. "Such self-certainty should serve you well. Though we both should also know how easily it can be turned against us."

She looked out over the courtroom.

"Your words proved little convincing, I believe. The sentiment was correct, but you are no politician."

Dayana straightened out her posture. "Oh? I imagine I have some power over you, darling." Her smile turned a bit wry. "Not necessarily in the courtroom."

She ran a hand through her hair and then 'gazed' upon her nails. "I do need to finesse my touch, as it were." The masked woman curled her fingers one by one and then shrugged. "Well, you have my gratitude, darling, even if this political occasion may end up being overshadowed by what is next to come."

The scion of House Valthren dipped her head to Lord Tenebrous. "Good luck to you."

"Do you think so?" Lucinia's red lips curled back up, her green eyes glinting. "That sounds almost like a challenge. Perhaps someday we shall have to test each other."

Slowly, she inclined her head. "You are welcome, my dear." It seemed Dayana was forgiven. "I suppose politics is ever thus, isn't it? Endless minutiae, with something looming on the horizon." She gently shook her head. "The occasional price of our position, I suppose."

He turned and looked at her and then said, “Bellious, for a twi’lek you seem to make sense… unsure if that is the Sith training or some form of low cunning either way it seems to have served you well.”

"From humble beginnings the only way is up, My Lord. That, or staying cattle. And I have never had the taste for grass. A Sith craves the kill." She bowed.

"My merits are coming to the fore during the Emperor's vetting process, but I don't assume failure, so my thoughts already go to what comes after. Am I right, My Lord, that you're fed up with complacency and excuses for inaction, and look forward to reasserting the strength of the Sith?" She looked to the floor where opinions were still presented. "Many of them miss the opening offered by the debate. Conflagration requires spark, but above all fuel. War requires plans, but above all expendable assets. And who is more expendable than people who we spare and turn to begrudge our enemies? The cloak that hides the sword. The war we win is one preceded by instability in the Republic. I think Naga Sadow had the right idea to go for the throat but executed it without due diligence that would keep their hands tied. But in this generation we can do better. Like I said earlier, I care little for the faction colours. I want to see Republic burn in my lifetime, and all methods that lead to it are good. Is it an approach you're willing to give thought to, My Lord?"

"I want war, total and complete. If that is something you support then we could work together for as long as it suits that end. This time of non-aggression is useless if we do not use it to plot the eventual destruction of our enemies," he said.

"On that we are in full agreement then. My voice on the Council would be for total war. And by total I mean also on fronts the Republic doesn't even recognise as theatres for warfare."

"I am not, I am a Sith, a fighter, and I lead those who would follow me by example," she said, nodding in acknowledgement to the woman.

"I can respect that," she said, "though I question your sanity for aspiring to a seat. Without the guile of a talented politician and schemer, a member of the council must have overwhelming personal strength in order to survive the politics of such a nest of vipes. Strength which none of the aspirants appear to have anywhere near enough of. Well, perhaps one or two among those referred to as Darths might come close."
