She made her way in the direction of her own artwork. It was probably one of the less busy corners, unless Vowrawn himself was attracting a crowd.

Art... Alister has browsed the various piece on display but hadn;t really spent too much time on any. No he was here to mingle and drink a few glasses of wine. Hopefully not a few too many. That would be a dangerous gamble after all. No one wanted to get drunk when the emperor might be present.

Xal walked around the gala, glancing at various works as he passed. GR8-1 followed, pleased that the arkanian wasn't hiding in a corner again.

“I am pretty sure this is a giant symbol of manhood and I must have it. It isn’t even subtle which is what I like, just want to blow it up and put on the side of a tower and have everyone just gape in awe at the majesty. I want it, give it to me, who did this? It is utter trash and I must have it,” he said giddy with joy.

"Why, thank you ever so much, my dear Lord Vowrawn. You're too kind." Shel smiled. Thank goodness someone in this place could enjoy a nice bit of camp. "As a token of my gratitude for your, er... discretion... if you really like this piece, it is yours, my lord. Art is best owned by someone who appreciates it." Whether it was appreciated as a thing of beauty, or an implement for torturing annoying guests... well, either would do. Shel respected both.

Raela finally arrived, still looking rather singed from her earlier encounter, but put back together with burned clothing changed out for more elegant attire and jewelry suited for the event. Nothing in her face would suggest at what had happened earlier in the evening as she gave the fellow attendees a pleasant smile.

"Why, I haven't introduced myself, have I?" Shel chuckled, a purring sort of laugh. "Sek. Shelzais Sek. And this is Lady Dayana Valthren," she added (assuming Dayana came along for the chat).
"Bred and born here on Ziost, though I'd not returned in some time until recently. Art is so difficult to explain in mere words, but I can say this piece is partly inspired by that return, this place. Ziost is a very... different planet from the peripheral worlds."
It might not be a terrific piece of art, but it certainly had been cathartic to render the cities of the Empire's heart-world crowned by a giant, domineering throne-slash-toilet. She'd enjoyed making it, possibly too much.

When someone approached Raela, Ilar stepped out of the shadowy corner he'd been hiding in and took a protective stance behind his Master. To call him paranoid after this afternoons events would be a gross understatement.
