Xal had some appreciation for art. It didn't appeal to him in an intellectual way. It served only aesthetic purposes. It was subjective, with no clear metric to grade it by. However, it represented the drive to improve, to seek perfection. He could appreciate that.

He found a young artist with hunger in his eyes. He had no established reputation, but he seemed to have skill. Xal was actually impressed by his creation. It stood out in ways he did not expect. That made presenting the work easier. The arkanian had learned enough about fine art as a child to point out the piece's merits. What little he didn't remember, came up on the datafeed of his goggles. He was able to convey the subtle political nuances the artwork probably contained.

Art... What did Alister know about art> Science was art! Still he was rather certain presenting his latest invention wouldn't do anything to impress those gathered here for the Gala. Perhaps though he could find a way to incorporate that into the piece. It certainly couldn't hurt to try.

Finding a local artist of some skill, he explained his need and the artist did his best, and honestly it was a good work. The fact that it diverged from the theme of the show wasn't really the artists fault. There was no way the beauty of science could be used to comment on the political landscapes of the Empire.

Still the speech Alsiter made while presenting it was rather impassioned, as he explained more then was likely necessary about the science portrayed in the piece. Still some were impressed, though others surely wished he would of cut it short.

After recovering from her unfortunate close bout with death, Raela realized that she needed to step up her game a little bit in the race, and her own social pull was a small price to pay for it. She sought out the best of the best. She did realize that after her earlier showing, criticizing the Emperor directly would probably end with her disappearing forever. So she went for an easier target - her personal object of derision, Darth Hurn.

It is a bit of a sideways piece, but depicted someone arguing with themselves, and implied through expressions and gestures to somehow be losing the argument.

The explanation portion was easy enough, the artist's skill making it straightforward.
