Bulls on Parade
Event Type: Mayhem
Influence Cost: None
Participants: Unlimited
Timeslots: Early Evening

Description: The Eagle has called for the people to take to the streets and do a thing that seems alien to most Imperials… protest, or more pointedly protest the Dark Council! Will you get the people to rise up or will you crack down on these fools and show them that the power of the Empire is absolute.

Rules: First the player must find the action make an Underworld or Streetwise check at Average, if they decoded the correct message on Day 3 they get a boost die to this roll. This can be skipped but will increase the difficulty by one for all checks. Failure on this check grants a setback die on all further actions.

Any player can utilize Darth Malgus Support and bypass this using those rules.

For the Eagle

First you have to get the people into the streets!

Rally Round the Family: The player needs to stoke the fires of the people, this can be done with a successful Leadership or Deception check at Average or they can make a basic Influence check. If this roll fails add a setback die to the next roll.

Next complete one of the Following. Completing this step increases Suspicion by 10, the player can make the Optional Hard Deception check to avoid suspicion at the end.

  • Pocket Full of Shells: The player needs to make a Combat skill check, this Average unless it is Lightsaber then it is a Hard check because why would a Sith be railing against the Dark Council? Successful roll here increases Suspicion by 10, by 15 if Lightsaber is used.
  • Feed the War Cannibal: The player makes an impassioned speech to the people to march and show the Dark Council they will resist their corruption! Make a Coercion or Leadership check at Hard. Successful roll here increases Suspicion by 10.
  • Come with it Now: The eagle demands action and if we must destroy what has been built so be it. Make a Hard Skullduggery or Mechanics check to lead the masses on a tour of property destruction and looting!

For the Empire

Choose two of the following, the player only needs to succeed at one to be successful but every point that the Eagle scores is worth two Empire points when compared to see who is more successful.

  • Remove the Dissident: The player makes an Average Perception or Underworld check to find the leader of the mob and have Public Security take them into custody.
  • Nothing to See Here: The player makes a Hard Deception or Coercion check to convince the masses that there is nothing to see, go home and forget about this.
  • We are the Law: Make a Combat check at Hard, if Lightsaber this is at Average, to show these dissidents who is truly in charge.
  • Logic Dictates: The player makes a Hard Lore or Education check to show these ignorant masses exactly why opposing the Empire is folly.

Trust in Darth Malgus: An optional step available only if they support Darth Malgus, it does not apply points to counter the Eagle but if successful will grant the player an additional 1500 credits for their service. The player makes a Cool check at Average to show these masses what a true hero of the Empire looks like and that they should be thankful for the protection of Darth Malgus in these times of strife.

Rewards/Outcome: If supporting the Eagle and successful in getting the people into the streets then the Eagle will procure up to three items totaling 8,000 cr or less. If there is excess credits they are lost they only can get equipment or attachments. Supporting the Empire will grant the player upon success a reduction in Suspicion by 5.

Protesting? in the street? Tyr wouldn't have thought that the Eagle's supporters would make themselves so visible, after all, sticking one's neck out was the best way to get your head lopped off. The shistavanen made good use of his bulk and intimidating appearance to put righteous fear into the hearts of gawking bystanders, roaring commands with his fangs flashing, sandpaper voice rumbling from deep in his massive chest.

And for those inciting the chaos, Tyr brought order in the form of his orange-red lightsaber. A looter lost their hand, an impassioned speaker lost their head. His blade hummed, and it seemed to him that it pulsed in time with the beat of his heart, resonating through his being and suffusing him with strength.

by Rumun Gol
Rumun noticed on the news that demostrations where happening at the center of New Adasta, possibly against the Darkcouncil. He suspected that the Eagle had something to do with it, so he quickly went there.

When he arrived to the scene, he was stopped by imperial troops and security agents that where there to control the mob. They did not let him pass at first, but then the tall alien sith smiled to them and passed to the officer an imperial security card.

At first the officer was confused but when all codes checked succesfully, he apologized and let Rumun continue without problem right to the center of the protest. That was, without any doubt, a very big mistake.

Hundred and even thousands gathered. All protesting the corruption of the darkcouncil. The darkside clearly was filling the area. Smirking under his hood, Rumun communed with the force and using his subtle mind powers he stirred the entire mob into anger and then violence. Agitation started to brew and suddenly the mob became more ferocious and violent.

When the climax of hate was achieved, Rumun stood in a relatibly high place for everyone to see him and then yelled. '' My friends! My brothers and sisters! The darkcouncil clearly is corrupt and they have been manipulating everyone into silent consent! We must claim what is ours! '' He suddenly took out his very vicious looking crossguarded lightsaber, which upon ignition, roared in a dark crimsom. '' FORWARD! PEACE IS A LIE!!'' and with that the alien sith rushed into melee combat against the security forces.

Rumun was death incarnate, he was not the same sith from Korriban. No, he was enjoying this violence, cutting his way through the traitorous imperials who prefered peace. '' THROUGH VICTORY OUR CHAINS ARE BROKEN!!'' he continued to recite the sith code aloud as his lighsaber devastated the poor soldiers. All while the mob destroyed everything on its path.

Fear, anger, hate, suffering.

THE DARKSIDE WAS STRONG

Shaisha quickly heard news of some trouble stirring, so after a day of politicing and tests... she was ready to unleash some frustration and fury.

She was just a bit too much equal opportunity when it came to her carnage.

As the bloodbath calmed down, she casually slicked her hair back and put on the smooth persona of Sith Lord again. "Nothing to see here, citizen. Lord Tenebrous and Public Security is keeping you safe from those who threaten your way of life."

Much like his lover, when the news of violence in the streets came through Jo'ren rushed out to unleash a smackdown. It was incredibly effective and he gave a sublime demonstration of the use of a double-bladed saber. Unfortunately, just like Shaisha, he didn't particularly care who got in his path...

This made it difficult to persuade the crowds to disperse. They were either entranced by his display or in more than one piece.

However, when he started to talk about how great Darth Malgus was everyone seemed to listen and nod in agreement. For starters Darth Malgus hadn't unleashed indiscriminate limb loss on them, which was quite popular with the people by this point.

Sylvain too arrived at the 'protest' with haste upon hearing of the disturbance. He skillfully diverted people away from the event through his powers of deception and cunning.

As he went about dispersing the crowd, a particularly rowdy and violent group of youngsters came walking past him towards the riots.

"Cease and return to your homes." He said with an intent-filled stare as a young man cast a rock at a elderly woman walking away.

"What're you gonna do about it?!" Yelled the kid who must have been of noble lineage by the way he acted to the world around him.

Sylvain's fingers crackled with electricity and his hand raised up to the boy. A bolt of lightning came coursing out of his fingertips and struck the boy square in the chest. His hands continued to crackle as he came to stand over the boy who had collapsed on the ground.

"The Empire is in need of more men of quality amongst the noble ranks. Dross like this boy is worth nothing. If you wish to be of value then aid in Lord Malgus' efforts to protect this city from vile traitors. Return to your homes or help others do so to theirs... We need more contributors and less refuse."

The people seemed to look up in awe at the young man as the lightning accentuated his profile and point spectacularly. He continued to move along, sending people home as he went.

by Lt. Tyber Rook
Tyber had been keeping tabs on the chatter around New Adasta, after what he uncovered with the Colonel. His armor covered him as usual, but there was a certain sense of unease around New Adasta.

And that's when he came across, almost as second nature, the riot itself.

An Example needed to be made. To show why the Empire qas strong because of the Dark Council. Finding a security detail, he approached who appeared to be the commander. A few words, and then a simple exchange.

They grabbed someone within the Riot. Might have been an instigator, or perhaps only a participant. But they were in cuffs, and then dragged off, in an excessively public display of Authority.

Yet there were others that needed to be convinced. A few more Credits, and someone with some Education began espousing the merits of the current system.

Tyber, of course, knew another truth. Credits talk.

Jaheem had heard about the riots and protests breaking out in the streets of the city. He had some trouble getting some information on where to best quell these traitors to order. Jaheem came across a group that was shouting and demanding more money, more food, and other such gripes. Jaheem strode up to the group confidently and pulled some of the force to him to amplify his voice and seed the words with some power as he demanded they disperse before any of them got hurt. The empire looked out for those that allied themselves with the Empire.

However a handful of protesters stood firm and decried the system while disrespecting the council and the Emperor. The familiar snaphiss of a lightsaber sprang into the air and Jaheem showed these protesters exactly why law and order existed in the empire.

Ilar had been unsure about the Emperor, between what he had discussed with Raela, and what he had observed firsthand himself, he determined that for the good of the Empire, the man had to be stopped.

And that meant he had to support this renegade, this Eagle, to try and weaken the creature that sought to devour everyone.

Unfortunately the internal conflict in taking this course of action kept him from reaching the depths of darkness he needed to be convincing in his approach to the people.

But while his connection with the Dark was weak, his words were strong and he still managed to inspire a group of dissidents into violence.

Shelzais didn't give two bantha chips about whatever grand cause the scrambled messages on her ship's comm were supposed to be supporting, but chaos was such fun--and credits even more so. Why stop the people if they wanted to get out and blow off some steam? It was probably a healthy outlet, might send an amusing chill up the spines of the old men in the government offices... and if some people got hurt or killed, well, people died every day in New Adasta in much worse ways.

She didn't manage to land right in the center of the action, as she might have liked, but she found her way to a secondary hotspot, and a mysterious pureblood woman in a hooded cloak fired up the protestors with heated rhetoric and the implicit promise that even some members of the most privileged species in the Empire shared their dissatisfaction.

Which was actually true, come to think of it. Though the other implicit promise--that she found common cause with them in seeking a solution--was so much fairy dust.

Upon preparing for the evenings festivities, Kristal Serasai received word from Malgus' people about an event that was transpiring. Those who would protest against the Empire upon their capital planet. Traitors, some, fools mislead all. Responding to the Crisis the Steel Valkyrie reminded those through the threat of her presence what it means to choose the Empire as an enemy, to choose the side of Chaos.

When there were those that would endeavor to deliver chaos unto the order of the Empire even then, she protected the peace of the Empire as any proper Soldier, and specifically Sith, would.

Dayana continued her devotion to her potential ally, Darth Malgus. With the help of her personal assistant, Camilla, she was able to locate one of the dissident leaders. The man was brought before her and she turned on her lightsaber. "Let this individual serve as an example," the redhead announced, cold and calculating, before flicking her blade to remove the man's hands.

Over his screams, she ordered security to escort him away. "While you await replacement limbs, contemplate your position under my merciful rule." She turned to the rest and raised her crimson sword to the air. "Now disperse. My fellow Sith are far less discriminate with their lightsabers."

Earlier in the day, Char is surprised at the buzz of flurry starting on the local Holonet. It appeared that news lad leaked that he had missed, a protest...but also a chance to get away with some looting. The Eagle was an interesting puzzle, and Char's own greed whispered him to go ahead, damn the risks. Of course, Char doesn't have the clues from the other day, but he has something better: a litany criminal contacts and his ear to the ground.

When Char arrives, things are slow to get started. People have shown up, but they have the general inertia of slightly pissed off dissidents: unhappy, but running into the long standing cultural norms of obedience. Fortunately, getting hesitant people to commit crimes was something that Char has been working on for a long time.

"Come on!" He begins, gesturing all around to the small knot of citizen around him. "We all work hard. We work for our piece. Can anyone rightfully tell me why theirs is enough for all this? How much harder do they work than you? A hundred times? A thousand times? A million times? No one needs this much. We're all supposed to be giving to the state, but it keeps handing our work back to these kriffers!"

He wasn't much of a mechanic, but the theory was simple enough, use a program to send a multitude of panicked calls of police brutality, enough to clog the Holonet and activate clampdown response protocols in sectors that all drew on the same power system...if Char got it right.

(Pass a Boost)
Except, he didn't. Feeling the heat, Char tries to slink off without being tagged.

He winces as he sees a flash, realizing that he's been tagged.

Well...if there is no refuge in anonymity, might as well provide refuge in audacity. Char pauses to chart the movement of the Imperial forces, and then loads them up to the Holonet. Certain people will find it useful.

Someone's speederbike went flying through the air to splatter someone across the pavement.

"This is what happens to those that stand in the way of order," she said, calmly. "You are being deceived. Not by the council. Not by the empire. But by this 'eagle', a force no more your friend than I am, but one that would seek to use you for their own gains whereas I would not. This is a tale told many times throughout history."

She lifted up another speederbike, while looking for more targets to crush in case the crowd refused to listen to her. Which strangely enough they did not.

"Anger. Discontent. In times of trouble, yes... such as with a plague at your doorsteps. A hostile power waiting to strike. There are those that would bring disunity to you. They will feed off your emotions, and drive you to frenzy against those who have your interests at heart. They do not *care* about the "cause" they champion. Look instead to those such as Malgus. Who champions the Empire. And are you not all *part* of the Empire?"

She dropped the speederbike, with a big thud.

by Mahr
Mahr had been caught unaware...not that he minded since he was always in for a good slaughter.

He also needed to vent out the frustration that was brought by the sector, Yavin was far better organsied then this place!

Kicking and shoving the angry citizens out of his way he noticed one of the leaders of this human wave yelling something about some nonsense a traditionnal Massassi should'nt care about. As he got closer to him, Mahr noticed that said leader was some kind of emo/hypster hybrid without any proper musculature and a clear deficiency in sunlight.

Not wanting to catch some kind of disease or a spiritual curse that this one was clearly carrying, Mahr let the authorities handle this wreck of a human.

''WHAT CULTURE COULD SPAWN SUCH A WRETCHED THING? EMPIRE MUST LEARN MORE FROM MASSASSI WHOLESOME VALUES!''

With that in mind, Mahr invoked the attention of the Red God to sanctify the upcoming massacre.

by Lord Bellious
Lord Bellious would support Malgus, but not all of his reckless methods, so she did some fieldwork on targets before jumping into action.

EE4. Mayhem. Malgus. Streetwise. Decoding Boost. New Adasta Setback Cancel.: 1eP+2eA+1eB+2eD 2 successes, 2 advantage
ImageImageImageImageImageImage

[2 Advantages for a Boost to Next Roll]

She easily located the target for extraction, cowering with explosives, hands shaking from a temporary breakdown, and the Empire's forces could conduct him before he gathered his wits.

EE4. Mayhem. Malgus. Perception. Follow-up Boost. New Adasta Setback.: 1eP+2eA+1eB+2eD+1eS 1 success, 1 advantage
ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Lord Bellious usually had her way with mobs. The one trying to prevent extraction was harder to control than usual though.

"This man snapped, and he was a danger to all. I am here to make the hard job done. Go on, make your voice heard, just without a liability of madmen amid your ranks."

EE4. Mayhem. Malgus. Deception. Influence. New Adasta Setback. Supporting Evidence Advantage.: 2eP+1eA+2eF+3eD+1eS 1 threat, 2 Light Side, 1 Dark Side
ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

[Advantage to cancel Threat, Dark Pip for Success]

Then Lord Bellious had an opportunity to do some heroic publicity, but apparently xenos had it harder.

EE4. Mayhem. Malgus. Cool. Malgus Upgrade. New Adasta Setback. Ally Boost.: 1eP+2eA+1eB+2eD+1eS 2 failures, 3 advantage

by Col. Hala Moraal
"Colonel, there's a march approaching Tower Lane. We've received a datalink from Lt. Rook too. Vectoring you in on the AO," spoke Warrant Officer Jutrian into Hala's comlink. She was in a ground car with other security forces, riot shield clasped tightly in her metal arm. Once they reached the front of the march, the car swung to the side and began disgorging the troops from within.

Stepping forward, she turned on her amplifiers and spoke clearly into the microphone, "You are participating in an illegal act of protest. Return to your homes, or be subject to detention and examination by Public Security. You have five minutes to comply."

The troopers stretched out behind her, with helmets lowered, shields extended, and stun prods crackling. At first, the crowd halted and began jeering at the soldiers and throwing light pieces of detritus. After each minute, Hala counted the minute down and reminded the citizens that they still had time to disperse. Three minutes, two minutes, one minute. At the thirty second mark, Hala visibly gestured to the troops behind her. Raising to attention, they interlocked their shields and began to advance towards the crowd. This final actualization of force seemed to make it through to the mob that she was quite serious and they began to give ground quickly. As the soldiers came up to Hala, one immediately behind her stepped back into the second rank and allowed her to take his spot and they kept advancing with slow, deliberate pace. Never quite causing an outright panic or stampede, nevertheless the demonstrators quickly sifted between those who were not dedicated and the true believers. The latter held their ground, and were taken into custody without violence unless they attempted to resist. A few quick prods from stun batons evaporated any such resistance.

Remove the Dissident, Perception. +2eB from advantage, +1eB from Tyber: 3eA+3eB+2eD+1eS 2 successes, 2 advantage

For the Empire, 2 order points and 1 triumph. One boost die available for a non-Malgus Imperial.
