Moyr awakened to breathless pain. She felt as if poisoned with a neurotoxin, both numb all over and seared by muscle revolt. She had no recollection of how she had got back, but it was not important. What was important was how to recover from the close contact with vacuum. Not being medically savvy by any measure, she simply applied the wonder-prick of stimpack, then another and another. As the combination of bactae and nanites were rebuilding her, she leaned up and tried breathing. It ended in coughing attack.

Half an hour later she was much better, however. There was some lingering malcondition she couldn't easily identify, but she was functional. Somewhat capitalising on her recent popularity, she logged into holonet and sent in to the Intel (rather than military) through normal reporting channel a very sanitised account of the retrieval of stray Massassi, blaming their straying on malfunctioning equipment, disavowing claims of insubordination. If the commanders of Bex Company wanted to reintroduce them, they could come talk about it in Belle Epoque where the saved Massassi were staying.

It was all too righteous. To make it work convincingly, Moyr needed to add some spice to it. So in the end, she alluded to the additional layers of facts related to the incident, if someone from the 'firm' wanted to talk about it, and tapped into the potential fear of consequences if they neglected it.

Imperial Intelligence saw the request saw it dealt with military discipline and redirected it to Public Security and they sent over an officer to follow up on the incident. She arrived some twenty minutes later and introduced herself as Major Nox, she took some minutes to investigate the scene and then once satisfied approached Lord Bellious and said, “So from your assessment this incident has to deal with misconduct of military equipment? The notes were a bit unclear, my Lord.”

[Lord Bellious]

"Good morning, Major Nox. Let's get in a bit of detail on this. Follow me."

They moved to the secluded room where soon Razzya quietly joined them with a box.

"To my best knowledge, this contains a standard military jammer that had been tampered with to attract a monolith before the Massassi forcefully disabled it. The monolith decimated the squad. And it would have been written off on charges of insubordination without any knowledge of the incident had I not intervened to save the survivors. They shared the account with me and another Massassi in my service called Mahr, brought from Yavin IV at its Queen's behest. This incident might have been a simple equipment malfunction, and yet the Massassi alluded to prior incidents of their uplift process being derailed. The enhanced ones are rather cogent, and they take pride in their newfound role and capabilities."

She paused. "If this is any wider than this incident, it may be a challenge to the program Darth Vengean has been supporting as a response to various military challenges the Empire faces. I wouldn't like the uplift process to fail either, also because of the benefits of our arrangements with the Queen of Yavin. Is it enough to merit an investigation by your office, Major?"

“Of course, my Lord,” she said applying gloves and then putting the damaged signal jammer into an secure container.

“Any threat to our Armed Forces is taken with the utmost importance. Where are these uplifted massassi, now?”

[Lord Bellious]

"Temporarily under Mahr's supervision. You can interrogate them and draw your own conclusions. They may even have some personal suspicions I may have heard but prefer not to give names to on supposition alone. They do vouch for Captain Pierce of the Bex Company though."

[Dapper Dog]

“I will be sure to speak with this Mahr,” she said pulling up a holo of Mahr and his basic information. She tapped the holo-display and then began pulling up similar displays of the massassi that were rescued and then ended it.

“This is a serious situation, and we will find the truth of the matter, my Lord.”

[Lord Bellious]

"Good. I would like to be informed of the advances in investigation if it is not a big trouble, and I offer my further assistance if it becomes needed." Moyr spoke quietly and businesslike, without usual Sith theatrics.

[Dapper Dog]

"You will be kept apprised within regulation, my Lord," she said in response.

[Lord Bellious]

"Thank you for your coming, Major. Good hunting."

Once the officer was gone, Moyr decided to bring Razzya's focus to some neglected security measures that could be put online by some tuning of her new camouflage system...
