Ziost - Crown of the Sith Empire

Sylvain walked up the pathway to his mother's luxury apartment door once more... He wondered if she would truly be there this time. A mystery, wrapped in an enigma, wrapped in the Dark-Side of the Force... it was hard to know truly what she would do.

He made himself known to be at the front door and waited to see what face met him on the other end of the door.

The droid shows him in to a room where he can hear his mother curse as she is trying to assemble a crib. She said aloud, “What do you mean I need piece 3a… I have… 3b?! Bloody hell I am going to murder these people… why is this so bloody complicated?”

Sylvain chuckled softly as he came through the door, "I believe they want it so difficult as to prevent you from returning it if you ever get it done."

He nodded his head politely, "Good evening Mother."

“Well this is for your children… when they come to visit of course,” she said tersely. “Are you going to be smug or help me put this together?”

He chuckled and nodded as he came forward, "Of course I will mother."

He moved forward and began looking at the instructions with his mother, "It is nice to see you finally here. I hope you are ready for tomorrow."

“I just sit in the crowd dear, you are the one doing all the work,” she said honestly.

“So are you ready?”

"The preparations have been made... Nothing that would suggest unpreparedness." He said with a smile that meant he was hiding something.

“Well I won’t pry, just make sure it is wonderful and everything you want… both of you,” she said.

“Now hand me that piece.”

He nodded and handed her the piece, “You excited to see the girls? Or are you past things like that?”

“I am excited to see my grandchildren… it is only natural I need to see for myself how much they take after whom and then fuss over that for the rest of y days,” she said warmly.

“I am not completely heartless.”

He smiled, “That is good to hear. I’m still trying to get to know this new ‘Raven Torsin’. Well... I suppose you are the original.”

“People always like to think they are new and improved… I just think we are who we are in the moment,” she said honestly.

He nodded, "Conditions around us change swiftly enough. Not changing to fit the situation can be dangerous."

He paused for a moment, "Oh... that's right. I had something given to me that was to be passed on to you."

He withdrew a small object wrapped in a dark red cloth. "A gift from the child of one of the Witches of Korriz."

She seem puzzled and accepted it and said, “The witches of who?”

"House Farro. Korriz is an isolated system on the fringes of the Empire. A powerful line of Sith Witches populate it. There is a gifted young child who handed me this knife and said you would know what to do with it..."

“Well thank you,” she said looking at it quizzically. “I hear that both of the girls have decided to run for the Dark Council… my how they have grown.”

He chuckled, "Indeed... Both seem convinced in the legitimacy of their claim. We shall see if they possess what it takes to put that 'growth' to use."

His face darkened a bit, "Or which one will need to kill the other to claim their spot."

"Sith kill, it is in our nature," she said calmly.

"I'm not sure either of them are completely aware of that possibility; most likely they think they can fill the two open spots. Neither thinks they could possibly lose. Chances are small enough though that I suppose it won't matter in the end... And even if it did, I suppose both would do their duty." He replied.

“You don’t strive for the Dark Council thinking you can lose,” she said thoughtfully.
