Ziost - Crown of the Sith Empire

Xyll was on her way to ensure someone was going to have a bad week. Succesful completion of that task was still an hour or so away, however. For now, she was walking to the people's tower... because traffic was hell these past few days and she was damned if she was going to wait for it to get fixed.

Thus the young, white-haired Sith could be found outside the tower, just about to head in.

Remmington is having a chat with Yen-Dor Farro for a while before he says goodbye to her on his comlink. He takes out his datapad and looks over his design again. He mulls over the information when he notices a familiar face nearby.

He gets up to approach the younger girl and offers her a bow. "Good morning Sith Xyll... oops sorry, it is Lord Nyx now. Congratulations on your promotion and more recent appointment as the Emperor's Witness. You have certainly kept busy since the Academy."

Curious. Someone she did not know. Addressing her as Xyll, instead of Lord Nyx. She always did make a point of stating she did not stand on titles... but that was only *after* people asked her whether she did. It was more... dramatic that way... and imposed a certain uncertainty in them that she greatly enjoyed.

Thus it irked her when someone simply called her Xyll. More so when he did it in such a clumsy way as to make her think he was mocking her.

"I don't know you," she said, stopping and regarding him with what one might interpret as casual disdain. He looked ever so slightly familiar... but still, it did not click.

Remmington is not completely surprised by this and merely bows and offers an introduction again. "Remmington Thalalas. I help out at the Korriban Academy as an assistant instructor for lightsaber training. You were ever so proficient that you hardly had any need for my assistance Lord Nyx. Nevertheless, I do make some effort to remember students."

"Ah yes," she said, fully turning toward him. "The lightsaber. Not my finest instrument, but it will do in certain situations."

Remmington nods. "We all have our strengths and weaknesses. How are you finding Ziost so far Lord Nyx?"

Small talk with people of no importance to her. How she despised these moments. But enduring such times might spring unexpected benefits on her down the line. Who could tell.

"It is... different from the last time I was here."

There was a small pause.

"The emperor's presence provides a certain... thrill... doesn't it?"

Remmington nods. "You have quite the honour to be first and foremost in witnessing the aspirants vying for those empty Dark Council seats. It is quite exciting.

I would have thought you may have tried your hand at it too. You jumped up in the standings very quickly."

"I am no fool," she said, "I will not debase myself with these games. Should I ever wish such power, I will simply *take* it. Like a *proper* sith."

Remmington nods. "I can see you doing that. If you are not going for a Dark Council seat, I am curious as to what you have set your eyes on now then."

"My ambitions are my own," she said, "for now, I shall simply pursue my duties."

Honestly...

"I suppose you will go back to the academy once this business is concluded."

"Not right away. I have some family business to take care of first. Though I imagine that I will be back there in a few months at the latest." Remmington comments.

"Family can be a powerful motivator. Or a liability." She looked away, off to the distance. "I am sure you know this, of course."

"More than a lot of people." Remmington comments.

"May I ask what you think of the aspirants so far? I have only seen one public challenge so far."

"They are weak," she stated. "Ambitious hopefuls who bit off more than they can chew. Their pain and suffering will make them stronger though, so perhaps they may yet surprise."

Remmington nods. "Very insightful. I look forward to see who makes it through to the end."

"Have you checked out Varas Point yet? It is definitely a must see."

"One might waste one's time with such frivolous luxuries, I suppose. An ambitious sith should use their time more wisely, however."

Remmington chuckles a bit. "Guilty as charged I suppose. I figured that since I had to come all the way out here. Why not enjoy the most beautiful planet that the Empire has to offer. At least that is what the travel holo ads say."

"Ziost is many things, but a prime tourist destination is not one of those things in my estimation."

"To each their own." Remmington shrugs. "Do you have many other duties than being present for the aspirant challenges as the Witness?"
