Ziost - Crown of the Sith Empire

Lucinia had not quite been to Zash's home here on Ziost quite so often that it was familiar. But the first time had left enough of an impression that it was certainly stirring sense-memories as she approached the door.

She'd made sure to ring ahead, of course; surprising Zash was far down the list of things she wanted to do. She was dressed in her usual blacks, of course, and made sure her makeup was impeccably done. She was also holding a bottle of wine; a nice rosé suitable for drinking in the morning.

Reaching up, she rang the door chime.

The door slides open after a long moment into a darkened apartment.

Frowning gently, Lucinia stepped in. "My Lord?" She called softly.

She reached out, feeling for where she expected the lights to be.

“Leave them off,” she heard Zash’s voice say from the darkness.

“I have been unwell, and the light does not help. The darkness is soothing,” she added.

Lucinia's hand paused just before the light switch. "I see." She said. She let her hand fall to her side.

There was a short pause. "Do you require a physician?" Lucinia asked, pitching her voice low. "I could examine you, if you like."

“I need only time,” she said from the darkness.

“Do not concern yourself with me, it is unbecoming a Sith. So what brings you here?”

Lucinia shrugged. "As you wish." Her concern was for a possible patron, of course.

Somewhat awkwardly, she set the bottle of wine down on the nearest flat raised surface. "I wished to inform you of some mild success I've had." Lucinia said, her chin tilting upwards. "An expedition to a station in the Galthor system. I and some others recovered a Rakatan computer console. We're performing a full examination of it later today. I look forward to discovering what secrets it contains."

“Rakatan technology is not easy to come by, hopefully it will prove useful. How did you find this station?” she asked with interest.

Lucinia smirked, although she wasn't quite sure if Zash could see it or not. "Would you believe I bought a Sith Lord a repulsor lift chair?" Her red lips parted, then pressed together again. No need to mention the ass boil.

"Lord Savas was his name. I'd briefly heard of this station through the community. Purchasing the chair for him allowed me to secure the details."

“Lord Savas always did long for a comfortable chair, give him something obtuse to read and he will be somewhat pleasant for hours,” she said in reply.

“He is an acquired taste.”

"As are so many." Lucinia said dryly.

She frowned, pausing a moment. "I think finding this console was a good first step. But I would like to do more. I would like to investigate some of the ruins here on Ziost. Success begets success, after all."

“Rakatan technology is dangerous, many of their secrets and machinery are not fully understood,” she warned.

“But then again great reward requires risk.”

"Yes..." Lucinia said, her lips curling up. "I would certainly agree with that. And I am willing to take risks. For the right reward, of course; that's only sensible."

She chuckled darkly and said, “I know that confidence all too well, I hope it serves you better than it has served others.”

Lucinia's eyes narrowed. "It sounds as though there might be a cautionary tale, there."

Her chin tilted up. "Still, even as I remember that, well, I think my success speaks for itself."

“Then why worry about cautionary tales?” she mused.

Lucinia smiled. "A very good point."

After a moment, she went on. "Access to the ruins on Ziost requires special dispensation from the Emperor. Do you have any pull with him, my lord?"

“I know people that could get you in, but it would not be legally,” she replied.

“Darth Arya could provide it as well as a member of the Dark Council.”

"I can ask her." Lucinia said doubtfully.

She frowned. "When you say 'not legally', just how risky of an endeavor is it? As I understand, the whole area is on lockdown, and the guards have orders to kill on sight."

“They do, but there are other paths into those ruins… dangerous and risky but useful. Smuggler routes that take you near vital areas… hopefully beneath the notice of the Imperial Guard,” she offered.
