Remmington stops by Xal's laboratory once again. On the transport over he is keeping himself busy while tapping away at his datapad. He announces himself through the com. "It is Remmington."

GR8-1 answered. "Please, come in."

He was led to the lab, where Xal was looking over massassi data. "Ah, good morning! Let's get that arm fixed up."

Xal took out his medpac and made preparations, using its stim supply to sharpen his mind. At least, he tried to.

"GR8-1, we need to resupply." he said as he made adjustments to the pac. Soon, he was mending the arm, with little difficulty. "Avoid overexerting it, but you should be fine now."

Remmington enters the lab and sits down as Xal sees to him. After he finishes the treatment, he gives his arm a try. "Wow, that feels great. Thanks for your help there Xal.

Once again, please let me know if you want help with anything. Out of curiousity, those are stimpacks that you are using on yourself?" He asks.

"Yes." he nodded. "With appropriate application stimpacks can be used to enhance one's natural abilities for a short time. Unfortunately, I'm running low at the moment."

"Oh? I was unaware that they can be used in such a way. Well if you like..." Remmington takes a moment to fish out 3 stimpacks from his backpack and offers them.

"... its not much but you may have these if you like Xal. It is the least that I can do."

He accepted them. "Thank you, Remington, I appreciate it."

Remmington nods. "No worries Xal. Thanks for everything and do not hesitate to call upon me for help."

"And, I'm always available, if you need anything."

Remmington nods. "That reminds me. I am still curious about how things are going with the Massassi at the camp. Are you able to talk about that more?"

"It's going fairly well." he nodded. "Each generation of hybrid massassi has demonstrated improvements in cognition. Some, have been quite remarkable."

"Generations? The Massassi were only incorporated into the Empire a few years ago. How are there generations already?" Remmington asks.

"In regard to the project." he shook his head. "There have been multiple groups that have undergone genetic alterations."

"Ah. So there were different groups to test out which modification programs will yield more desirable results. Something like that?" Remington asks.

"Yes. Specifically, the modifications were tweaked and improved after each group." he explained. "A new generation of modifications for a new group of hybrids."

"Out of curiousity, what happens with the older generations?" Remmington asks.

"They are still a part of the program" he answered.

"Do they get upgraded with the next modifications as well? Or is it a wait and see approach in case something develops later over time?"

"They remain as they have become, so that we may continue to observe and study them." he nodded. "We need to assess long term effects, as well."

Remmington nods. "That is true enough. In case there are any defects or problems that may arise. Speaking of which, have there been any unsuccessful batches?"

"Of course." he nodded. "It's inevitable in such studies."
