The Torsin Estate

The home of one of the founding families of the Sith Empire is located atop a large rise overlooking many of the noble estates of New Adasta. Despite the visual metaphor of being located above the other families (except for the obviously gauche attempts to surpass this by some families by launching their estates into the air) the Torsin family estate was selected for its location as a defensible position in the early days of settling. House Torsin has always been an ardent and respected defender of the Empire despite not having Sith-blood. Accordingly, the estate is one that was designed for utility and practicality rather than aesthetics. The most impressive displays are of massive imperial banners and well-positioned defensive arrays.

The home was recently a major connection point for many important members of the Imperial Military. Aramis Torsin and his wife Raven were well-respected and hosted a great number of events during the time of Aramis' appointment as Minister of War. Raven brought a more aesthetic touch to the estates; adding gardens and areas for entertaining guests within the main buildings. The estate has been largely dormant for the past few years following the assassination of Aramis Torsin. Raven in her grief since her husband's passing has rarely returned home and instead now lives in the family's apartment at Varas Point. The young Lord Sylvain's appointment on Zygerria has kept him from visiting but with his imminent marriage approaching a greater amount of activity has been noticed in and around the estate.

Estate of the Serasai Family

Within recent memory the proud estate of the Serasai family stands, a beacon of the pride that every Serasai held deep within their breast. Soldiers, warriors, every Serasai held the honor of such distinction because of the martial traditions of the Serasai's past. Once these estates held a pristine training grounds, a sprawling home, and some lush grounds that were inviting and pleasing to its few guests. A home one might imagine themselves raising a family in.

Alas, for some years now this place has lain in rubble. After the killing of the former head of the Serasai family and his framing as a traitor the house had been reduced to rubble by further attacks upon the Serasai family and name. As the last remaining Serasai has been inducted to the Sith and thus spends her years building a life outside of these walls the grounds have been left unattended.

Naught remains of its once held glory but it's foundation. From this, perhaps, with an ability to move forward the position of the Serasai among these other noble houses may be reclaimed. An endeavor that might very well be in the works as work crews have been seen gathering, and inspecting, the grounds in recent days.

The Haunted Halls



The Tenebrous Stronghold has been more known as the Haunted Halls for the superstitious for the past two-three hundred years, mostly as a fanciful way of speaking of the empty property that once belonged to a powerful Sith family that was destroyed by the Emperor when he purged the entire Dark Council and their many allies around 300 years ago.

Situated near the base of a cliff, the estate has natural defenses for its location from nature itself. It sports three spacious floors that once housed a large family, now serving the immediate family of Lord Tenebrous and whoever is given permission to stay within her walls, as well as some of her closest allies.

The estate features a large outside area that has traditionally been used for lightsaber practice in the past. Grand panorama windows allows a viewer to look out on the area and to the view beyond from the warmth and comforts of being indoors. It has a simple aesthetic outside, but inside is said to become more lavish every year.

The Ophion Arcology - High-end Luxury Apartments



Though the district housing the estates of various imperial nobles tends toward expansive residences; it is also home to luxury apartments for those who still desire opulent living space, but who can make do with a somewhat more modest footprint. A number of such individuals maintain abodes inside a large triangular shaped structure jutting out from a cliff-face overlooking the city. The arcology is fully self-sufficient, with on-site facilities for everything from power to food production; though constant shuttle services keep its residents from feeling isolated from the rest of Ziost.

A few Sith make their homes here, including one Lord Nyx. Her apartment is relatively spartan in design, though how much of that is a matter of personal preference is debateable, as she's only recently acquired the place and is rarely seen there. The large central living space, clad in dark colors, features a number of display cases showing off artwork and artifacts from bygone eras. They don't appear to be from imperial space, and someone with an expert eye might be able to place their origin. While they may have historic value, they don't appear to have the kind of value that would translate into credits very easily. The rest of the apartment is normally off-limits to others; though that does not apply to ZK-4D, a domestic droid who both ensures that the apartment is in pristine condition, and that any guests have their needs seen to.

The Valthren Estate

Once opulent, the lands of House Valthren on Ziost have become more muted and pragmatic. The family rarely visits the planet now with their posting in the colonial sectors. And so, most decorations had moved with them and had simply never been replaced.

That does not mean that the Estate has been allowed to fall into disrepair, however. Attendants have ensured that it will serve as an adequate, if only just, lodging for any members or guests. The preferred terminology used among its masters is "utilitarian."

Estate of Lord Orethion



Though a relatively small residence compared to the grandeur of some of the older noble houses, the estate of Lord Orethion befits his rather minor status. A lower noble, new to the wealth and opulence of the Sith aristocracy, was gifted the meager, former Sith temple. Picked clean by centuries of excavation and fallen into deep disrepair, Lord Orethion poured his new found wealth into making the estate worthy of his title, modest though it may be. The temple, itself, is quite small, but gives way to sprawling gardens which comprise most of the grounds within the demesne walls.

Though few care about such minor Lords, Lord Orethion, for those who know him, know him to have great interest in the powers of the Dark Side. And it was rumored that he studied with the Sith witches of House Farro. As his estate has been opened to their number for their use, while the Lord is off-world, such rumor seems all but confirmed.

[Lucinia Malveaux]

The Malveaux family is both powerful and wealthy. While their palacial primary estate is on Dromund Kaas, they also own smaller estates on many of the major worlds in the Empire. That way, whenever a Malveaux scion travels, they can always stay in a place just like home.

Unfortunately, home is terrible. The main Malveaux estate is designed in a very old, dark, and nearly dreary style, and the satellite estates are similarly designed. The property on Ziost is no different.

Lucinia has at least done a little to make it her own. Mostly, this has meant adding her favorite datacubes to the library, and putting some of her preferred wines in the credenza. The rest of it at least helps to focus one's darker thoughts when meditating.

There's nothing to be done about the hallway lined with portraits of long-dead Malveauxs, though, nor the way their eyes seem to follow you as you walk down it. Lucinia merely suggests that visitors use the second guest bathroom instead.

D8: During the chaos of the battle, a very large rock crashed in through one of the upstairs windows. It then, to all appearances, bounced around, smashing all of the portraits.

Quick repairs sealed the hole and cleared away the debris, but the portraits could not be recovered.

[Malorus Lightheart]

The Lightheart family has a small but luxurious estate in the city, at least on the outside. Oh, the entertainment areas are the height of culture, at least what was popular a decade ago when his parents were here about a decade ago.

The private areas are much more barebones. After all, the important thing is to have presence on Ziost to convince others of their wealth. As such, they plan to have the guest rooms updated to current fashion. After all, even if it just Malorus, there is still amount of pride that needs to be maintained.

The Ausar Estate rises up one of the craggy ridges rather than out into the city. The pathway to get there is narrow, treacherous, and windy and there is only one way as far as most know, aside from a pad allowing landing directly within the compound. While the Ausars are not one of the founding families of the Empire, they are part of the second wave and very old and accomplished, and the estate has been added onto vertically over the course of generations. The walls are pale and lights shine from the windows somewhere at most times, making the estate a visual landmark in New Adasta... a feature likely very useful for its owners.

This is primarily the home of Lord Apophis, Rafeiyan Ausar, a commander and Sith Lord under Darth Marr. As such, the home is austere and run with military precision, even when he isn't there. Also living there for the moment is Raela Ausar, his niece. Her parents were the original primary owners of the home, but with her own citadel on the outskirts of the Empire to manage, she hasn't seen fit to try and claim this estate yet.
