Calling Czerka (Pre-Game, Torsin Estate)

[Sylvain Torsin]

Sylvain walked towards the entrance to the estate briskly. The outer sensors notified him that his guest was approaching. He was pleasantly surprised when the message from the Czerka Corporation had contacted him and only a few hours after arriving on planet. He made room for them that next day, giving him and the droids enough time to begin to spruce the place up slightly.

He walked out of the front door and towards the perimeter wall, timing it so that the doors of the gate would open just as she approached them and he'd be waiting there on the opposite side.

As the gates open Jan steps through, her heels clicking quietly. There's definitely a smirk at the timed well timed greeting. The Czerka Rep is wearing a somewhat severe white suit, which does nothing for her somewhat sallow skin, a small blaster pistol sits on her hip.

Behing her a small airspeeder sits with two figures keeping watch, one appears to be trying to convince the other to pass the time by gambling.

She bows her head politely before thrusting out a bony hand
"Lord Sylvain Torsin, I presume?"
Her smile is very broad.

He nodded his head graciously, "Indeed. And you must be Miss Melmoar. It is a pleasure to welcome you to my home."

He took her hand with practiced grace and he politely placed a kiss upon the back of it. He then motioned to the pair in the speeder. "Your drivers are more than welcome to come inside as well if they please. It can get terribly cold up here with the wrong change of wind."

He nodded his head graciously, "Indeed. And you must be Miss Melmoar. It is a pleasure to welcome you to my home."

Jan blinks twice at the hand kissing before nodding graciously.

"Oh it's a dear, dear offer but they'd simply be a burden I think. One of them isn't really trained for this."
That untrained one still seemed to be resisting the offer to dice.

"Your hospitality is a credit to you though, it certainly makes for a promising start to any discussions....no?"

He smiled and gestured toward the door so they could walk and talk as they went, "I hope so. I must say I was quite intrigued when you contacted me... I suppose your company has some algorithm that predicted I would be interested in a conversation, because exactly that which I hoped would happen did."

Jan heads in, heels continuing to click

"Oh nothing so complex....I just know a person or two from my time and obviously the company has considerable contacts. We conferred and decided that a visit to Lord Torsin's was a priority."
Her eyes light up a little
"Corporate is very interested in the ways we can work together, they'll be delighted to hear of their interest...I know I am."

He smiled and nodded, "I think both of us are fairly aware of the dangers of engaging in business with the other side, and yet there is mutual interest."

He chuckled, "Shows that perhaps there is something to discuss that just might be worth the risk. As long as the payoff on the other end is agreeable."

They walked in the threshold and a protocol droid approached. Sylvain interjected before it could speak however and asked, "Would you care for something to drink? Some food even? C-0X2 here would be happy to take any requests."

He smiled and nodded, "I think both of us are fairly aware of the dangers of engaging in business with the other side, and yet there is mutual interest."

He chuckled, "Shows that perhaps there is something to discuss that just might be worth the risk. As long as the payoff on the other end is agreeable."

"Business without risk is for bankers, where's the fun?"

"Dorian Quill, no ice, let it breathe for a few minutes before serving, if you would. Although I'd hate to be drinking alone...."

He smiled and nodded, "I'll have the same then C-0."

The droid nodded and wandered off to its station while Sylvain led Jan through a large dining room with Imperial regalia adorning the walls. The room was well large enough for even the largest of banquets, but appeared to be less ornately adorned than one might expect.

Going beyond the dining hall, the pair then came into a smaller room with various cultural artifacts positioned in well-defined and elegant places throughout the room. Sylvain invited the woman to sit on a stylish couch and found himself a spot across a small kaff-table.

"You'll have to excuse some of the mess, I'm afraid. We're still trying to get things back into shape. My dealings on Zygerria have kept me busy for the past little while... and it has kept me from home."

"Oh yes, I was wondering about that dust mote on the chair."
The ex-soldier was clearly rather pleased with the decor....one day she'd have this kind of credits.
"I've always found Zygerrians...particular, with your added responsibilities anyone would be busy."

Even sitting properly on the couch she manages to sprawls a little

"But now you're home and it seems as though all is well....."

“Quite the opposite is true of course.” He said with a smirk. “The Outer Rim suffers from a plague that none of us seem to be able to control. I’m of the mind it is because our collective resources are not being utilized as best they could. I’m here to get the unwilling and cannibalistic members of the Empire on board... and moving to rectify this terrible loss of assets and manpower which is stifling growth and opportunity for the Corporate Sector.”

"The only minor detail there is exactly which resources are deployed...and how they are made more efficient."

"The first stage must be containment. Already there are reports of plague victims in Dromund Kaas. It appears that has gotten the attention of some, but if the river is not dammed up then no amount of resource distribution back to the capital systems will be enough."

Sylvain typed momentarily on his datapad before a map of imperial space appeared on the table between them.



"As you see here, the Corporate Sector has been heavily infected now for the past two to three years. By creating a wall at places like Zygerria and Cadomai and further expansion can be hemmed in. If the Hyperspace lanes are controlled and Zygerria can act as a buffer for the rest of Imperial space. Then we can finally begin to make progress against the disease."

He continued, "Now obviously for that to happen Zygerria will need medical supplies, surveillance equipment, the best researchers the galaxy can offer and an expansion of checkpoints to assure no contaminated individuals make it through. Zygerria can be the galaxy's 'patient zero'. Our research and findings will undoubtedly lead to breakthroughs that will help tackle this issue everywhere else."

She smiles widly, the rep's teeth are a little too white.
