Out for a Stroll (LA3)

Hala glanced down at her data pad. It had already been a long day and she had a lot more left to do. Still, she made time to take care of other work. Jutrian had compiled footage taken from the bar fight and the force march as well as pulling the most up to date version of the Internal Affairs forms. She filled out her complaints with as indistinguishably as possible and, after reviewing it for the third time, hit the Send key and went for a walk.

It was a very cold day, but it was clear. Even kind of beautiful. Bundled up against the cold, she let her feet take her where they wanted while she mentally rehearsed the address she needed to make later that night.

A red trench coat figure was taking a stroll from opposite direction, wearing shades that chameleoned to the tone of icy blue. Her lekku bounced freely as walked in general direction behind the back of the Good Colonel.

Moraal's ears pricked at the sound of someone walking behind her. She turned her head slightly to bring the being into her peripheral, then continued around when it seemed familiar.

"Good afternoon," Hala said casually through a smile. She wasn't in uniform, but her military and disciplined demeanor still expressed itself through how she held herself or the fastidious crispness of her jacket and slacks, "Or at least I hope it is?"

"Moral qualification to a time of the day is a misnomer, as is assessing it by single-species standard. So are you asking about aesthetics? That's a personal take. Do you like it?" The speaker paused. "Or whether it has brought me a sense of accomplishment?"

Hala paused thoughtfully for a beat before answering.

"Either in aesthetics or.... I suppose 'ergonomics'. Whether it well suits you. There's not much of it left," she said, glancing to the setting sun shining a cold golden color on the raised buildings around the park, "so a pity if it has been good, and a welcome invitation to evening if it has not."

Remmington is out shopping for mods. After getting some purchases he spots a couple of familiar faces. He approaches the pair and offers them a polite bow. "Good afternoon Moy... I mean Lord Bellious, Colonel Moraal. Nice to see you again."

"I've spent most of it indoors, but I have no regrets." Moyr was about to say more when yet another Sith appeared, on she hadn't seen in several years. "You seem to have followed my career closer than I have followed yours, Remmy. A lord now?"

"There has been quite a bit of the indoors," she agreed, "but I have few complaints. It's been productive."

When Rem appeared, it took the colonel a few moments to make the connection but realization sparked quickly in her eyes.

"My Lord," Moraal said in greeting with a deferentially nod of her head.

"It is kind of hard not to know anyone who is an aspirant for a Dark Council position. Congratulations, I wish you continued and much success Lord Bellious." To her question he shakes his head. "Not as yet. I have been helping train new students at the Korriban Academy."

He looks back to both women. "I hope you have both been well. I believe it was Nar Shaddaa since I last saw either of you. I hope that time has been well and things have been.... productive here on Ziost."

"Two weddings, a party, and a bombing. It's been a busy week already for General Unjin and his staff," she said with a faint smile.

"It has truly been a while, Lord Thalalas.... did I see you after the night in the bar with Corso? Things are a little fuzzy right around the time the actual treaty was being negotiated... I did not convalesce as properly as I should have."

Remmington shakes his head and smiles. "Unfortunately not. We shared some good stories with Corso but I did not see you afterward. I imagine that there will be more stories by the time that we are done here. If you wish to meet up sometime and catch up I would enjoy that."

"Is there anything that I may help with?" He asks.

She shrugged.

"Inform my office or the office of public security if you have any knowledge of credible threats against the Empire or its citizenry and everything that is expected of members of your caste, countering Jedi and the rest?"

Remmington laughs along with that. Was is a joke? "Ever one for business Colonel Moraal. So it sounds like you may have some free time now. Do you want to go on a date with me?" He gives her a wink.

"'A date', my lord?" she said, her facial features tightening thoughtfully, "Certainly there are more suitable companions for you than a soldier? Perhaps a noble of sufficient pedigree, or someone who is more your peer?"

"There is absolutely nothing wrong with those loyal subjects who give their all into the Imperial military. I greatly value and respect all the hard work that they do." Remmington comments.

Then he glances over in Lord Bellious' direction. "Well I suppose I could invite Lord Bellious out but she is an aspirant vying for a Dark Council seat. It may be bad for her to be seen with someone lowly like me. Plus, she is more than likely to run me through with a lightsaber for even suggesting it."

"It's quite likely indeed." Moyr replied, having been silent for a while, giving no indication if she was joking or not. "I suffer few distractions in times like these. Which reminds me, I have some business to attend to here. We can speak later, Colonel."

Moyr tossed her lekku to the back an walked away.

"I agree, there is little wrong with those who give themselves to a life of service to the Empire," Hala agreed cautiously, "but that does not make them suitable partners. And if you are trying to create a patronage, offering romance is a fairly flimsy basis for it.... though you likely would not offer patronage after deprecating yourself as one who is 'lowly'.... What are your intentions Lord Thalalas?"

"Oh I just wanted to share a beverage with you and catch up Colonel Moraal." Remmington says with a smile as he watches Lord Bellious leave.

"You don't have too much issue with that do you? I should probably get your Galactic Network Id. Here I'll let you write it in yourself." He takes out his datapad and types a message for her to read.

Be careful which Sith you trust.

"Ah, perhaps I misunderstood what you meant by 'date' my lord. Sharing a drink with a clan mate would be more than acceptable," she said, notably relaxing.

She stepped forward to tap onto his datapad.

Whom do you trust, and distrust?

""Great! I saw a nice place before. It has a good view and offers a bit of privacy. The snacks and drinks there look pretty good too." Remmginton beams a smile and leads them to aforementioned shop.

Who indeed?

I assume that you have been dealing with Eagle. How much do you know so far?

He taps the message and passes the datapad over to her as they walk.
