Ziost - Crown of the Sith Empire

With GR8-1 beside him, Xal Kimlya made his way through the resort. Soon, he was where he was told he'd find Remmington Thalalas.

Remmington is at the casino again enjoying a chat with Yen-Dor Farro as he waits for his meal at one of the highly recommended restaurants there. He notices Xal and GR8-1 and gets up to offer them a polite greeting.

"Afternoon Xal, GR8-1. Have you eaten yet? Care to join me? The food here is pretty good." He gestures for them to take a seat and join him.

"I'd like that. Thank you." Xal nodded and took a seat, as did the droid. "It is an impressive place. I wasn't sure we'd be able to find you."

Remmington smiles. "While there are a lot of people here at the resort, I guess there still are not that many Sith that it makes it that difficult to track me down. The food here is really good though reasonably priced. Just gives people more of an incentive to stay and spend credits in the casino."

He passes Xal a menu. "Here you go." Then proceeds to look it over himself.

"There is also the chaos of the last few days." he nodded, looking over the menu. "They seem to have recovered well here. Was any of your work affected?"

Remmington shakes his head and puts an order in for his food. "Not really. Though it seems like I will be much busier in the near future. My first order of business is to hunt down and completely crush this Eagle dissonance and the symbol that they are trying to make it into."

"Is your lab alright? What about the lab at the camp? That was pretty messed up yesterday."

"My lab is fine. The one at the camp will take time to repair. I may move the project to other facilities regardless." he explained. "The massassi are not the only species who may find integration difficult, but there may be ways to ease that concern. Not with genetic modification, necessarily. There would likely be different solutions for each."

"Do you plan on staying on Ziost for a bit longer? Or are you going to be heading off for something else soon?" Remmington asks and then places an order in for a drink.

"I'll likely be here for a time, unless adequate facilities become available elsewhere." he answered, as he placed his own orders.

Remmington takes out his datapad and brings up the plans for something and then passes it over to Xal. "Well I didn't end up helping you out very much this time. So I figure that I should show you the project that I am working on. It is a wolf shaped war droid. I had encountered some lightsaber wielding war droids some years ago and have been wracking my brain trying to replicate those with no luck. So I decided to go a different route with this. The major problem with this design right now is that it is too expensive."

"What are the primary factors in the high cost?" he looked over the design with interest.

"Most likely the size. Though it is wolf shaped, I was aiming for something the size of a horse. It needed a lot of servos and gyroscopes to keep its balance and be able to move quickly and fluidly like an animal. Plus I equipped it with built in weapon systems. Vibroblade teeth and claws are an obvious addition but I also mounted blasters in its eyes for longer range attacks." Remmington explains.

"I updated the design to use lighter materials and I tried to reduce the weight by making it more hollow than it was originally. Mainly by shrinking the size of some of the components."

"Hmm... Would making it lighter make it faster and more maneuverable, too?"

"More than likely but the servos and gyros will have to be re-calibrated. The loss of weight will also mean that it loses some of power behind its melee attacks. I was hoping to enable it to be able to wield a lightsaber in its mouth but I cannot figure out how to get a machine to generate Force like a living being can." Remmington comments.

"I know it is possible. I have seen it. Plus Force infused technology is nothing new. Just look at lightsabers. Well I should say that it is more like a lost art at this point. Something that the Infinite Empire of the Rakata held the secrets to."

He nodded. "The Force has reclaimed many secrets. But, they can be rediscovered. I am certain this could be done."

Remmington nods. "Maybe with a combination of Sith sorcery and alchemy something can be achieved to this end. It will be worth experimenting with such a project in the future. Even if it does not bear fruit, we may learn something else of interest that we can use."

"Rebuilding and expanding the massassi project will keep me busy, but I would definitely be interested in this."

"I will keep you posted then. I may come ask you for some help to incorporate Sith alchemy into it then. " Remmington adds.

He nodded in agreement. "That could lead to some interesting applications, if it can be done."

"It would be a breakthrough if it could. Even if it isn't, we'll probably learn a lot about the limits that we can push."
