Ilar emerged from the water refreshed and restored, he'd breezed past the guards who had remembered seeing him at the art gallery show the other night and assumed he had the connections to get into this place, and now he'd realized it was definitely worth it.

The water was wonderful.

Stretching out on a towel, he looked over his datapad, doing a little light reading while he contemplated another swim.

The beach wasn't particularly Alister's favorite place, the sun didn't treat his party white flesh well. His aide though continuously nagged him about how women didn't find the pallor of a corpse attractive though. An easy enough thing to ignore most days, but since Madam Sek's lesson Vair'ea had taken a more hands on approach.

So the evening found then on the beach or well Alister in the beach, Vair'ea was out swimming and enjoying the water.

Taking a look up from Raela's research, that he had promised her he'd try and keep abreast of, Ilar saw the pair set up close enough for polite conversation without shouting.

Mumbling to himself loud enough to possibly be heard, Ilar bemoaned the differentiation between heterozygous and homozygous genotypes.

"Who the fuck can wrap their head around this?" He whined frustratedly.

Alister had been reading, that was what beaches were for after all. Cocktails and reading. Hearing the other mans seeming distress he looked up. "You likely just need to have a bit more patience with it " The scientist murmured from his seat. "Chances are you are making it harder then it is."

"Entirely possible," Ilar admitted as he powered down his datapad. "Although it also doesn't help that advanced genetics is just so far outside my realm of experience."

"Now i'm cruious as to your reason behind studying advanced genetis." Alister mused thoughtfully, settign aside his own datapad. "Though I suppose it's not unusual you don't know much about it. I'd say its something most of the galaxy isn't well versed in."

"I made a promise to a friend that I would acquaint myself with this research material," Ilar explained as he enjoyed the warmer weather inside the complex.

"It seems that I share the rest of the galaxy's ignorance about the subject though, but I am sure that perseverance will reward me in the end. Are you and your companion," Ilar gestured to the Chiss woman splashing in the water, "versed on the topic? Or am I completely intruding upon your peaceful evening?"

"I'd suggest you start at more basic levels of understanding, skipping to the end will only confuse you after all." Though he was right he would achieve at least some degree of understanding in time.

Glancing at Vair'ea he shrugged. "I'm aware of it, but it's not one of my main areas of study. More something I've dabbled in a few times." Reaching for the fruity cocktail he had recieved from one of the beach workers he took a sip. "So I wouldn't say you're disturbing me."

"I need only learn enough to be able to determine if someone else can make more sense of it than I." Ilar explained as he gestured to the data pad.

"It's owner is a little concerned that if something should happen to them, that the work might be lost."

"Well, history tells us that things like that happen quite often, so it's quite a valid reason." People died, and their research was forgotten or abandoned. It didn't just happen to people either, entire civilizations fell into dust sometimes.

"Though are they quite certain that your death wouldn't follow theirs?"

"One can only prepare so many contingencies." Ilar replied with a smile as he turned over, to let the artifical heat bake his chest.

"All things being equal, I hope that in the next few days the research will come to be received by the scientific community anyway."

"That would be the best way to see that it isn't lost, though at the same time it makes it available to everyone." Which meant others could steal from it.

"Though I suppose the majority of scientific breakthroughs are meant to be shared."
