[Day 8 - EA] Imperial Court

[Jun-Tsu Farro]

Lord Rath looked different today. He was decked out in a new suit of armour. Well, it was new to him. It hailed from a different time. The Armour of the First Wrath. He still had his trusty cloak, but there was an aura of simmering violence that was hard to disguise. The feeling that some sort of righteous smiting was long overdue.

Looking around the room he made his way over towards Jun-Tsu and Vas-Tsu. "Ladies."

"Lord Razh, you honor uz vith your presence. Pleaze, join." They nodded to the other seats of the court reserved for House Farro. Given the topic it seemed pointless to have the her sisters with them today, so many of the seats were empty.

Drascovina and her minions were in attendance, though Drascovina looked terribly bored with shades on nursing a terrible hangover… she Utini’d too hard the prior night. Elsewhere, Raven Torsin lingered in the shadows, perhaps even lurked.

Darth Baras announced the agenda and opened the floor to anyone who wished tospeak on the subject of better integration of aliens into the Imperial Armed Forces. Darth Hoshi was of course keen to add that it was long past due for such a matter to be considered which got a dark look from both Hurn and Xevious.

[Darth Acina]

Darth Acina took the floor and said, “This is a time for the Empire to move past the simple minded xenophobia that has plagued this Empire and stymied it from true greatness. We discard other species that could be of real benefit to the Empire. We should be-”

Darth Malgus interrupted, his image came up on the holo projector looming over the chamber, “Darth Acina is correct this Empire has languished in mediocrity for too long. We neglect precious resources by denying these xenos opportunities to excel under the banner of the Sith Empire.”

“The Dark Council has grown ineffectual, feckless, and insular; more concerned with their power mongering than the true goal of the Sith Empire, destruction of the Jedi and their pathetic Galactic Republic.”

“These are all symptoms of a great tragedy. When a pack of tu’kata fails in their hunts it becomes necessary to choose a new alpha, I blame the so-called Immortal Emperor for these shortcomings. I will not allow this Empire to fall into obscurity when our destiny is at hand,” he said gesturing dramatically.

“I will bring the stability and vision to the Empire and it will be reborn, the Dark Council abolished, slavery abolished, xenos will be given their chance to serve the Empire with dignity and strength and the Sith will focus their efforts toward the goal of destroying the Republic.”

“Join me or fall before my strength. I am Emperor Malgus, and this is the dawn of a new era,” Malgus finished as the chamber is rocked by a blast sending debris and, rubble and smoke everywhere!

“Welcome to the Sith Empire, reborn.”

It begins. This was not exactly how she imagined it going down, but Xyll was less surprised than even she thought she'd be. She stood up, used the force to shield herself from some of the debris, and smiled. One hand went to her lightsaber, the other went to half-place a mask on her face.



"A new crusade..." she said to herself, as she looked around the scene of chaos she had no doubt found herself in.

"...or a knife in the back of greatness."

The Emperor seemed content steepling his fingers and said, “Make sure to take meticulous notes Witness.”

As parts of the room were violently exploded, Ilar instinctively ducked away. He mulled over Malgus's words.

The current Emperor will be the end of us all, but are we just trading in one tyrant for another...At least this one PROBABLY doesn't want to eat our life force, or at least not yet.

"Thanks. Hey kid." He joined them, taking the seat next to Vas-Tsu, although he wasn't seated for long. As Malgus made his announcement and campaign pitch Jo'ren rose to his feet. "Well now. This is going to get messy. I'll protect you as best I can."

His lightsaber was in his hand. The only question was which way all of this was going to shake out.

Jaheem was on his feet both lightsabers in hand as he moved to where Raela and Ilar were "Probably best to stick to together." He said to the pair. "Chaos is what happens next."

Just as Moyr disappeared, so did Ilar's connection with the Dark Side. In amongst all the raging maelstrom of emotion, he could only find calm and clarity of purpose in protecting his Master.

And those emotions just weren't helpful at all.

The Emperor closed his eyes and said, “Then it is treason then… Darth Malgus and you shall learn that I am the Empire.”

The Emperor unleashes his power, diminished as it was on a global scale.

OOC: The Emperor calls to his children, everyone must make a Discipline or Cool check starting at Average, this is upgraded for every time you used the Night of Terrors effect, so if you called upon it twice you upgrade twice, also add a setback die. Failure on this check means the character is in the thrall of the Emperor until Early Night, they will be under GM control.

Massassi due to their lineage have an additional setback, The Witness due to her token automatically fails this check. Shaisha should also count any time she used Valkorian’s power for this effect. Those that proved their loyalty to the Empire also get an additional upgrade on top of any other upgrades from Night of Terrors, meaning they agreed to the Test of Loyalty and did not defy the Emperor.

This is a global effect and should be made in the EA no matter where the player is on Ziost.

Base difficulty dice Pool is 2eD+1eS.

Jaheem felt the force attempt to take over his mind but he pushed back, walling his mind off though he felt the stress of repelling such an attack.

He looked to his allies to see how they faired against the attack.

[Sylvain Torsin]

Nasari and Sylvain both took their lightsabers into their hands calmly as the building began to shake and rock with blows from above. Nasari began emitting her wave of protection around she and her master.

Sylvain felt the pull of the Force sent out by the Emperor like a wave rush over him. He closed his eyes and pushed back against the wave, finding space like a boulder within a mighty river for him to stand on. He reached out to his apprentice to hopefully buffet her from the influence of the Emperor as best he could and opened his eyes to see how far the wave had swept over the room.

[Jun-Tsu Farro]

The smoke blew away from where Jun-Tsu and Vas-Tsu stood, deep shadowed tint to the air around the pair. Mother's hand was drawn into a potent mudra of protection that had deflected the remnants of the blast from striking them. As Jun-Tsu's hand fell to her side she took up her daughter in her arm, while the other caught hold of a long, thin blade hidden among the sleeve folds of her robes.

"Come, mein dahrling. It iz time." With an almost unhurried gait, the witch made her way from her half-damaged balcony seats and began a circuitous walk down to the Emperor. When the void's voice rose, though to command his subjects, Jun-Tsu merely continued on her trek, unperturbed. She had not partaken of his dark power, and had esconsed herself in the loving embrace of the Dark Side. Let the Emperor try and push through the infinite power of the Force.

He fed on the Force, but even if he were to swallow the galaxy he would still be a tiny, insignificant thing beside the power of the Dark Side.

[Lucinia Malveaux]

Lucinia's mind was her own. This meant that choices would certainly need to be made.

For the moment, she drew her own lightsaber. Her gaze went to Jo'ren and Jun-Tzu, judging if they were controlled, and walking carefully to join them if they were not.

Xyll did not have the Emperor's token around her neck today. After all, that power had been tainted, and she had been *warned* about it. Perhaps she would cleanse the artifact of his influence at some point, but for now she ought to have been grateful it was not with her.

Thus, when the Emperor's power attempted to drew her mind toward him, to be subsumed by his will... she found herself with the ability to resist; a simple enough feat to accomplish.

Yet there was no sign of a struggle on her face. No indication at all that she had resisted. She did not move a muscle. She simply watched. For now. She was the Witness, after all.
