[Ensign Pierce]

“The Mandalorian gets it,” Pierce responded.

“Takes a certain kind of priss to be a real Imperial officer and move up the ranks… I’ll be lucky to make Lieutenant first grade.”

She paused for a moment then shrugged, even chuckled a little bit.

"I save my well-practiced Imperial Sneer for the terrorists," she said playfully, "and for sleeping bags without functioning power cells. Tried to will them into live through sheer spite. It's good practice."

Pausing again, she sniffed at her mug.

"I understand it may not sound like much, coming from me, but I find much more contentment in my work than in the promotion seeking. Also means I'll almost certainly never make the general staff, but that's fine. Rank is only one tool to get the job done. But if you're in it for the status, then how high would you need to rise until you were satisfied?"

She twisted her lips thoughtfully before adding, "I'd rather be the right person, in the right place, and at the right time. Even if that means a boring desk job supervising security arrangements for all of the gathering Lords."

Pierce agreed and replied, “Bloody rank is one thing, I am here for the fighting and to give them priss Republic soldiers an early grave. Course we bloody ain’t at war no more. Emperor be damned, it boils my blood it does.”

“You’re a different cut than our current commander that’s for sure. All status and starched uniforms for her.”

Hala frowned.

"This isn't really my department, and I'm likely no where near Bex Company in the chain of command... but maybe I can lend a hand. Who is your CO? And what does your unit need to operate efficiently?"

“Captain Thuriza comes from some noble house of true blooded Sith, but she ain’t like Sith, bloody confusing but you know what I mean? So she has a cushy commission I reckon and leaves me to do all the heavy lifting of keeping these blokes in line,” he said stoically

The tone sounds more like this is just how things are more so than complaining.

“She don’t seem too happy that we are shipping off this station though. Just got the orders, Bex is heading planaetside to work with some project on taming them massassi… whatever that means.”

"I think I get the idea. At least with respect to the CO," she acknowledged before shaking her head, "Not really experienced with the Massassi though. Sorry about that."

[Lt. Tyber Rook]

"Taking the massassi?" His mug was set down forcefully. Widened expression on his face. A moment to compose himself. "Ensign. That's a low yield mission with high risk. Massassi aren't exactly known for caring about friendly fire."

His head turned to face the Good Colonel, determination setting in. "Ma'am. That's a good way to erase something that is deemed a problem." Looking back to Pierce.

"What's the sitrep on your unit? Any specialized troopers, or areas of expertise on your command staff? Who sticks out as capable, and what is our weak point?"

[Ensign Pierce]

“Rather sorry bunch on the whole, half are a decent shot and the other half are barely fit to stand at attention. Colonists and other trash,” he said honestly.

“Giffer is a good shot and Becker keeps our equipment running, long after it should have been replaced… but well you can guess where our equipment procurements go,” he said dryly.

“Got us an alien too… blue skinned ones… the viss? Choos? Whatever, only speaks Huttese… so I call him Hutts. Best damn scout I ever met, for an alien.”

[Lt. Tyber Rook]

"Conscripts or volunteers?" Tyber began to look down the table, before looking back to Pierce. "Have you been given any other details about the Camp assignment?" An armored hand held onto his mug, taking in the information with full attention.

[Ensign Pierce]

“I don’t have access to their enlistment details, that would be Admin,” he said gruffly.

“As for details, I got orders that say we are relocating, no why, just a date and time and equipment roster. They ain’t telling us what’s what, had to get that by other means. It’s all classified for sure and need to know, bloody hell they tell us anything.”

"If it's classified, then they may be waiting to brief you until after you get on the transport," Hala mused, trying to work through good reasons why the information would be withheld.... that didn't involve the concerns of Pierce's rank and file.
