Well, I couldn't help myself. I mocked up my rolls for Jun-Tsu as if she had gone to do the Dark Side Mastery challenge.

Round 1: Suffers 5 strain on 3 rolls to get successes

Round 2: Suffers 13 damage over the course of 4 rolls (still alive but barely)

Round 3: Rolls 4 pips, suffers 2 strain, flip a destiny, suffer 2 damage for Magus goodness; get 5 pips; but unfortunately go to 0hp. Uncertain if get the zap of death or not as I technically succeeded on the challenge.

We'll never know.

Also, does natural soak apply to the damage from Round 2? I mean obviously not that it matters for me, but I honestly didn't even think of it.

Natural soak does not apply for step 2 only step 3.
