[D2 - EA] The Nanny III

[Rumun Gol]

Fildon Vil. Xevious' son and possible heir. Trained to become a great warrior and leader. What had become of him? Rumun wondered, did he fell deeper into the darkside and the path of the Sith? or did he returned and fold into his father archaic path?

Did he went seeking ambition and power? or did trembled under the shadow of Darth Xevious?

There was only one way to know...

Rumun used his holo-messenger and the contact codes that he acquired years ago when he briefly tutored him, at Nar Shaddaa. If he was still under Xevious' control then this could mean death for Rumun, as Xevious was seen as part of the conservative branch of the Dark Council.

But death is always there, a constant companion of a sith.

He activated the device and waited.

[Dapper Dog]

Fildon was waiting on the roof of a structure his hands behind his back as he looked over the city, enjoying the view.

[Rumun Gol]

As the image from the holo-messenger appeared, Rumun bowed respectfully to it.

'' My Lord Vil. It has been a while.'' Rumun said '' I hope that your life has been good in all these years.'' He adds.

[Dapper Dog]

“My father still lives and my sister is well, but I have failed to achieve my full potential as long as he draws breath… my failure continues,” he said honestly.

[Rumun Gol]

'' Failure? Why failure, my Lord? '' Rumun asked to him. '' You said once that your path was one to shake off the shadow of your father and claim your own life by making your own decisions.''

'' Now could be your opportunity, or i'm wrong? Are you seeking a place among the council open spots on Ziost? The last time i talk to you, you were already a powerful warrior, strong in the force. Knowing you for a while, your power most likely has increased tenfold or more since Nar Shaddaa...''

[Dapper Dog]

“Then why am I unable to strike down my father, it must be the weakness of mercy,” he said bitterly.

[Rumun Gol]

'' Perhaps. But power doesn't mean one must strike down another in order to claim what it is meant to be yours, no. At least not at the beggining '' Rumun tried to explain. '' It is not just the action of killing that can lead you to victory. Sure there are Dark Lords that are known for their martial prowess alone, like Lord Rath, but more often than not, you need more than just martial ability.''

'' If you are going for that road, Darth Xevious is without doubt, an impressive challenge. He is a member of the Dark Council and one that has stayed in that position for many, many years. A powerful sith, full with influence and knowledge, with years upon years, and layers upon layers of defenses both passive and active. Patience i would advise if this is the path you have chosen for your self, my Lord Vil '' Rumun said.

'' Take Darth Hoshi as an example, she managed to rise and claim a spot in the Dark Council, taking her time to build her powerbase and disrupt the ones of her enemies, smashing the concept of tradition on the process. She destroyed Darth Thanaton, his severed head serving as a reminder of what she is, but also how she got there...'' He adds.

'' In exchange she sacrified her own arm, yet this sacrifice made her stronger, and now there are very few that are openly challenging her. ''

[Dapper Dog]

“She is an example of how to go about things… you have always possessed keen wisdom what would you do if you were me?” he asked.

[Rumun Gol]

'' Hmmm, the question should not be what i would do, because, look at me, i'm just an apprentice. Let me see if i can help you with another example.'' Rumun said.

'' Let us for example, think about Darth Malgus. He is another force to reckon within the Empire. Certainly he has the power and will to take a spot on the council, yet he does not. Why? Maybe he thinks that his path lies on another route, but by doing that he sacrificed something, right?'' Rumun asked to Fildon.

'' He is seem as an outcast by many, bordering into treason by others. Defying the council on many times, but he still carries the will to move forward, and his followers know this and move with him. In exchange for his influence on the upper levels of the empire and becoming an outcast, he gained power. In other words, this is about sacrifice and the willpower to know that one's path is sorely one's to move on.''

'' He -knows- that he is on the right, and he is willing to do whatever it cost to prove that he is right. No matter the cost, his troops also understand that and they are willing to lay their lives for their master and leader.''

'' Same principle to what Darth Hoshi is willing to sacrifice for a greater gain.'' He adds. '' So the question should be, my Lord, what are you willing to sacrifice in order to become what you are meant to be?''

[Dapper Dog]

He listened intently and said, “I don’t know yet, I am not even sure I want to be a dark Councilor, it has done my father no favors and only given him more enemies that my mother has to assuage to keep them from outright conflict.”

“I simply want my own life, but his shadow looms over my every action.”

“You are lucky in that regard, no great name to live up to,” he said to Rumun.

[Rumun Gol]

'' To a certain extent, yes. But things are still expected of me. If i fail, i die. Simply as that. My master knows that, and i know that. It is the Way of the Sith.'' Rumun replied. '' But i could understand the difference, between not having a name to carry, and having it.''

'' Then perhaps, my Lord, you should cut all ties with him. Many Siths do that. Grab whatever they can and own and then take a journey to discover their own value amids the Sith past ages. Exar Kun did it, traveling the galaxy in search of his own destiny and power, discarding his previous life, becoming something new.''

'' Like many Siths take new names upon their elevation, to signal everyone that they are not the same person that they were before. A new different man. More powerful and wise than his previous existence.'' He adds.

[Dapper Dog]

“You think it could be that easy?” he asked.

[Rumun Gol]

'' No, it will not. And that is the trial that you must pass in order to claim your destiny.'' He said with resolve. '' We are sith, either we grab our own destiny, shattering those that deny us, or we die, so the strong continue to thrive.''

'' Through victory, my chains are broken. '' He recited that line of the sith code.

'' You have more chains that i have, Lord Vil. Many chains are bounding you. If you want to claim your life and your destiny then they must be broken.''

'' Like i said since the first time we met, i can only give you advise and council. It is you, and the force, that will end your bounds. Only through the Force you can be free.'' He said.

[Dapper Dog]

Fildon was thoughtful and said, “No, you are right, I have allowed these chains to tie me down for too long. If I am going to make my name I need to free myself and create my own name.”

“I know my path.”

[Rumun Gol]

'' Good, good.'' Rumun nods. '' Whatever path you choose to achieve your greatness, i will be there to give whatever council i could. Like i said before, i'm always interested in the stories of others, specially if those stories are about great people destinied for achieving magnificent things.''

[Dapper Dog]

Fildon agreed, he had his path set.
