It is well appointed with some staff and the Doctor directed them to a woman already hard at work analyzing something. She paused and turned and said, “Oh, you must be the new Chief Researcher.”

“Gena Yon, doctoral student, welcome to the team. Just another day analyzing massassi genetic strains and trying to better them as a species.”

[Xal Kimlya]

"Xal Kimlya. Thank you. In your opinion, what has been the most challenging aspect of your work?" Xal asked.

[Dapper Dog]

“Well my Lord, the hardest part has been trying to get the massassi to take their daily regimen of medicinals as they prefer to cling to their primitive ways. We have had great success though with Generation 4, a near forty percent increase in Intellectual capacity through a combination of gene therapy and micro machine brain enhancements,” she responded.

[Xal Kimlya]

"Interesting." He nodded. "Continue your work."

Xal turned his attention to the rest of the lab.

[Tyr]

“Primitive ways sometimes require primitive solutions,” Tyr growled in his sandpaper voice, “what have you been doing to convince them?”

"Nothing, protocol has the military handle that side of the operation," she said honestly.

[Tyr]

When Xal didn't take over the conversation once more, "who would I need to speak to about that, then?"

[Xal Kimlya]

Xal nodded. "At the least, we need a better understanding of their reasoning and how willful they are."

[Dapper Dog]

"That would be well above any of our level and position," she said honestly.

[Xal Kimlya]

"I thought psychology was part of the study." he frowned. "I must have misunderstood."

[Tyr]

Tyr grunted in irritation, "it's not like I've been subject to Xal's drug trials before, oh wait, actually I have." Sarcasm dripped from his fangs.

[Dapper Dog]

“It is, we study them in small group dynamics and inter species interaction but changing protocols is not something we can do without approval from higher authority. Feel free to take that up with command,” she said in reply.

[Xal Kimlya]

"Cultural behavior and belief, logical reasoning, stress management, discipline, attentiveness, fear response... There are a lot of factors to consider." He said. "There have been other issues with the massassi complying to directives. Hopefully, we can avoid what happened there. Regardless, I clearly need to familiarize myself with these protocols."

[Dapper Dog]

“I will make sure you have all the relevant manuals and regulations,” she responded.

[Xal Kimlya]

"Excellent. I look forward to our work." he nodded.
