[Day 6-LM] Telecomms Sales

[Dapper Dog]

Char can see he isn't the only one watching this debacle, there is a covert line being fed to a site that comes up as [redacted] on his systems.

[Char Fin'le]

"Huh...someone else is watching this. And someone is bringing sabers into play here..."

Char looks up. "Are you sure that you're not interested? I'm going to try to see who else is watching. It' says "redacted" but that has to be a cover for something."

[Dapper Dog]

"Well I am interested now," she said curiously.

[Char Fin'le]

"Huh...I think someone got away." As the action start to be winding down, there are sounds and shrieks of pain.

Char looks back up. "I don't suppose you know of a bugout point where someone would go, would you? Sounds like there might be a new recruit."

Char starts tapping away on the datapad. "I want to find out who else is watching here. They're covering their tracks, but maybe...maybe, mind you, I can get a better bead on who this is."

OOC: Computers versus 3 red and 2 purple and two setback due to Imperial slicing algorithms.

[Char Fin'le]

"Sithspit, this guy is prepared." Char's fingers work in a flurry, his veins starting to bulge. The lights in his implant begin to blink harder.

"But not prepared enough!"

[Dapper Dog]

A garbled image comes up on the feed and says, “That was a particularly difficult cipher, I should know I designed it myself. Either through dumb luck or through brute force methodology.”

[Char Fin'le]

Char double checks his setting, making sure that he was currently encrypted. If the person was talking to him though, clearly knowing he was there, then he was likely less secure than he thought. But still, he was so close to something now, he couldn't just back away.

"I'd like to say it was skill, but I can honestly say that if I tried it again I don't know if I could have cracked through. It is masterfully done...but you know what they say about a Verpine chrono and a Durasteel mallet. But I'm rather curious about who else would be watching a raid by...two Dark Council aspirants, if I don't miss my mark. I know one of them from the holos at least."

[Dapper Dog]

“So what is your interest or are you just a voyeur peaking in on the powerful?” the mystery person responded.

[Char Fin'le]

"I was asked to show my capabilities to a prospective employer. I don't suppose that you'd be willing to write me a reference, would you? Or perhaps, would be interested in my services yourself."

Char cracks his knuckles. "Either way, I am sure what I've found has value to the right buyers."

[Dapper Dog]

“Whatever they are offering, I am sure I can double it,” the stranger replied.

[Char Fin'le]

Char grins. "Make me an offer then."

He hadn't exactly figured out the price to charge his prospective clients at the cantina, so it would be curious to see what this person would offer if unprompted...and then Char could negotiate up.

[Dapper Dog]

“That is a trap though, whatever price we offer your ego or greed will instinctively try to negotiate a better price. You have shown yourself to be of value, and should be rewarded for those services but mere credits seems a bit pedestrian. Information and access to a network that could make you powerful seems more apt,” the garbled image responded.

[Char Fin'le]

"It's basic negotiating strategy." Char offers a chuckle. "And it worked."

Sithspit yes it did! This is what I wanted! Better access, more connection, and a reputation established from these lugs in how impressive I am. Business will be rolling.

"I accept"

[Dapper Dog]

"Tomorrow, these coordinates, and do not be late," the stranger replied transmitting coordinates.

OOC: Late Evening in the Icy wastes on Day 7.

Char nods and begins to back up his things. He turns to the woman he had been meeting. "I can leave you the data if you think it would be useful, but I think I got a hard job offer...unless you would like to sign onto my services as well."

She seems fine with letting the issue go.

"Well, it was a pleasure meeting you then." Char gets up to leave.
