“My people will be in touch with the details, Eagle. You will have resources. Your initial orders are to build the network, expand beyond Imperial boundaries,” he responded.

“Timeline? You will find the next few days will be a test of survival. Once that is completed you will receive a thorough brief of expectations and timelines,” he said calmly.

[Char Fin'le]

"That's...actually rather helpful." Char blinks a little, processing.

"Something is coming." It was a statement rather than a question. "Enough that you're telling me it will be a test of survival. Assuming I survive, having pieces will make it easier to build something new."

"Do you have any hints, or will this be my first test?"

[Dapper Dog]

"I do not know what form it will take," he said.

[Char Fin'le]

"Huh." Char scratches his head. "Well, I suppose it's a test then"

The man remains quiet for a moment. "I'm not going to do the job halfway. I hope you know that. I have no interest in being easy to dispose of, and if you want the Empire's malcontents ready to be an "enemy" I hope to do it smarter and better than anyone before me...or after."

[Dapper Dog]

"I would not have offered if you were found to be lacking," he responded.

[Char Fin'le]

"Alright then." Char closes his eyes and takes a deep breath in, exhaling it in a quick burst. When he opens his eyes there is a clarity that had not been there before.

"I am the Eagle. And I have work to do."
