[Day 8 - MA] The Malgus Deception

Darth Lachris replied, “He has raised a hand against the Emperor and the Empire, there can be no amnesty. We are done here. We commence the attack.”

“Join or stay out of our way, or you will be seen as an ally of Darth Malgus.”

Jan set semi obliviously in her cockpit, wondering what the delay was, she typed out a quick message to Fion
"Need Imperial fight to disappear, do you have one of those shops you can drive into for a quick spray paint to lose the authorities?"

That is, if the ship is still operation, she muses as she wonders at the holdup.

Lachris replied by launching salvo of turbo-lasers at Malgus command ship as he battle cruisers so few as they were moved into position. A wing of fighters were in bound from Malgus but they were erratic… they were fighting each other!

Over the line another ship called in, “This is Harad, late Captain Harad of the newly christened Steel Valkyrie, glad to have you aboard the fighting will be fierce and it’s bloody hell out there but follow us in!”

On the Steel Valkyrie Bur opened the throttle and lead the flight of fighters into battle. He didn’t like Imperials but Kristal had been… fair with him, he at least owed her something. Biggs, Wedge, and Weaver manned the guns as they made contact.

Jan neatly barrel rolls off from the main group, looking to strike their enemies from below. Idely she notices she has been struck by lightning and everything hurts.

Drascovina followed the Steel Valkyrie and the small flight of fighters as they weaved through fighters, she took some fire but after a quick check she was still in one piece… relatively.

Lord Bellious and Jan take a different more circuitous route that gets them in position for an attack run on the command ship if they can evade the incoming flak and fire! Lord Bellious can see where a previous turbo laser shot has sheared away the armor exposing vital systems around the engine core which the battle cruiser is deftly maneuvering to conceal from the Void Sabre.

OOC: Gunnery or Piloting Space check at Hard, avoid the guns or blow them away essentially. Setback for the chaos of the moment and two GM Destiny spent to upgrade the rolls part of that ten I spent earlier.

Moyr decided to seize the opportunity presenting itself, and lunged into the rain of laser fire, moving through it with hyperawareness awarded by the Dark Side. With some tips from Razzya, her preternatural understanding of the chaotic battlefield seemed supreme. She indeed thrived in its chaos.

Cornering on the exposure, however, she didn't see that one thing coming...

Hmmm, no trench, have to improvise. Jan's ship unleashes a barrage of fire into the waiting guns, carving a shallow trench of blown out armour plating and turrets through which she pilots the nimble vessel.

Drascovina waved through the flak and fire and even gunned down an enemy pilot with much glee as she commented to Jan, “Make your attack run… I already forgot your name… but I am on your wing.”

Her display had brought more attention to the squad as she broke off to follow Jan into the gouge made by a turbo-laser.

She smiled shark like and said, “Stay on target.”

As the flight makes their attack room, out of hyperspace dozens more Imperial cruisers arrived and began breaking off to make their attack on Darth Malgus forces. Over the open channel they hear Darth Arya cackling, “Destroy them all, I want nothing left.”

OOC: Make the attack Run this is a Hard Gunnery check upgrade 1 for the 5 threat and a boost die for the sudden support by Darth Arya and her fleets.

Drascovina succeeds but using threat to make next section harder by drawing attention to the team!

Jan's ship spins 180 degrees to rake a pursuing fighter with blaster fire before she begins firing missiles....everywhere. Well, everywhere was a target, right?

"The younger Malveaux? Lady...Draco....Drako?....Drinko? I've heard a lot about you....I'm a family friend."

Lord Bellious found herself in the crosshairs due to Drascovina's attention, and the Emperor's whispers were distracting her from focusing on the exposed vulnerability. Darth Arya's forces appearing in force dispelled some of her doubts about how her actions could affect the overall situation. It looked like at least parts of the Dark Council had pushed back against Malgus' usurpation, and his coup would likely fail. She only hoped it would not mean the Emperor's triumph, but a new order.

"I am going to shoot this thing down, so focus on everything else, Razzya!" Moyr seethed as she lunged to lock the torpedoes on target. The long second before they connected drew sweat from her forehead.

Malgus looked at the remnants of his crew many had gone mad due to something… he suspected the Emperor but it did not matter all his planning had been for naught. He adjusted his gauntlets and turned from the observation as alarm klaxons sounded.

This was not the end he foresaw, and yet..

His command cruiser detonated as Darth Arya and Darth Lachris focused their fire on the ship, but it was the keen flying of Lord Bellious, Jan, and Drascovina that had carried the day.

Grumbling to herself "Smug 13 year olds....I'm not even sure if she's worse than most in the empire."

Loudly "Uh yes, wonderful hit Lady Malveaux."

"Of course, nothing less than excellence is expected of a Malveaux," she responded as the ship exploded behind them.

She quipped, "This must be what he mans with Maximum Byron, how droll... idiot."
