[Day 8 - MA] Duel of the Fates

[Dapper Dog]

The Immortal was knocked off her feet but she caught the ledge before plunging to her doom.

OOC: Using Threat to catch the ledge. She will have to use a Maneuver to pull up, and with her Crit that will take a second.

[Lord Tenebrous]

For a moment she stood as if in a daze, as her mind connected once more to her physical self, and she was now in control. From the look she gave Dayana, there was a warmth rarely seen in her expression, soon replaced by fierce intensity as the situation sunk in.

Seeing the way of the battle, Shaisha knew there was no time to explain, or say thank you, and she moved with haste to follow up on Xyll's push against the guard. In one swift motion, she skidded on one knee in a whirl and her saber came down on the Immortal Guard.

The Imperial Guard Immortal parried the strike but the distraction buys Lord Tenebrous moment to send the Immortal into a fall...

But as with all villains if you don't see where they land are they really dead?

[Lord Jo'ren Rath]

The Emperor was a fierce opponent and his attack would have felled a lesser mortal. Jo'ren weathered the storm heroically, although he took a nasty strike to the head that was only stopped by the Cortosis in his headguard.

It seemed hopeless but that had never stopped him before. With an impressive effort he broke through the Emperor's defenses! Exar Kun's technique served him well as he attempted to disarm the Emperor with Djem So.

"Time to end this."

The Emperor was a canny foe, his blade spun in his hand but he maintained control of it.

OOC: Parry used for 3 strain, Suffered 4 wounds and used Resist Disarm for 2 strain.

[The Emperor]

The Emperor screeched, “I will show you unlimited power!” he holds out his arms still holding the lightsabers extruding purple lightning in all directions affecting all around him before he spun his blades and both Jo’ren and Xyll are lifted off the ground choking as they feel the force clench around their throats!

The lightning so powerful it shatters Jo’ren’s lightsaber! He flipped back to reassess this situation but his smile said he was pleased with the result.

OOC: 2 Dark to activate, 2 to hit 6 targets, Decrease Critical by 2! Hits 6 targets for 10 wounds Critical +10, 2 triumph to destroy Jo'ren's lightsaber, the crystal is fine. Suffer 2 strain to move to Short. Total of 7 but recovers 1 for 6 strain and 4 wounds.

Bind used as Action, 1 pip to activate, 2 pips for 2 targets, 1 pip to inflict 6 strain on Jo'ren and Xyll, both suffer 1 wound unsoakable, 1 pip so if they take an action suffer 6 strain, Critical +10 for the last pip, they are Immobilized until his next turn, he will then commit three dice to sustain this power. Used Xyll's Willpower assumed Destiny check.

Shaisha deflected away the worst of the lightning, her armor soaking up the remaining currents from hurting her internal organs, though she still grunted in pain... the force of the blast made her step back, leaving her wide open for an attack...

As a second lightning strike came towards her, she quickly shifted the grip of her saber, reversing her hold on the handle into a Shien position as the lightning danced across her arm and with a powerful thrust sent the arc of lightning back to him!

[Dayana Valthren]

The lightning enveloped Dayana, causing her to screech out in pain even as she held out her lightsaber against it. Her gaze turned to Shaisha, who took even more than the rest. It seemed, though, that her ally was still standing. It left a small smile on her face.

But the Dark Side's corrosion was eating away at her mind. "Sa-Santana, forgive me," she murmured as she tightened her grip on her saber. There was no turning back now.

The Emperor was a bit surprised to have a face full of unlimited power.

[Jun-Tsu Farro]

The tempest of dark lightning threw off in every direction about the witch, the wind whipping at her robes all the more. Drawing a hand up to her headdress she ripped it free and threw it into the abyss below, her long hair, what many would remember as red, now a tangle of black locks. Black veins jutted from the pools of darkness that were her eyes. A glassy sheen over them seemed to reflect the light of the horrid storm as she pulled at an amulet at her chest.

Holding it aloft, she spoke a chant in some bygone guttural language, and like a lightning rod, it drew away the Emperor's power. "You are NOZHING bevore zhe Dark Zide!" She screamed!

"You are an inzect to itz immensity! You could zvallow a zhouzand galaxies and ztill be lezz than a MOTE OF DUZT bevore it!"

Those who had been at the battle of Yavin IV, been at the temple with the Massassi horde, recognized the vaporous light that snaked from her body in dark emerald tendrils. With a thrust of her hand forward, the streams appeared to converge into a single point whirling into a viney needle to draw out the Emperor's blighted life.

Remmington is lucky that he is not targeted by the lightning storm. While the other keep the Emperor busy he rushes in and manages to just pierce the Emperor's formidable defense.

The witch's left hand rose, her sleeve falling away to reveal the length of roughhewn black ore. Like a thing of pure shadow, it drew in light, and appeared almost tenebrous in her hand. "Zhiz iz zhe blade I hawe vorge vor you! Zhe pover of Houze Farro vill cut you vrom zhe Forze, excize your canzerouz grovzh, zo it can no longer invect zhe Dark Zide. Zhiz blade, made to pierze zhe woid of your being und end your immortal abomination. You gnawed too much at zhe Darknezz, like a biting flea, juzt enough to be notized by zhe Umbră-Ușoară. Und ve are all zhe hand of itz vill to zvat you, und end your petty annoyance to itz zacrednezz."

She leveled the blade at him as the darkened veins about her eyes grew more prounounced and traced down her face. Her pale fingertips drew dark as well, with tendrils of black sneaking beneath her skin for having even held the blade for so long.

[Dayana Valthren]

"None of this will work," Dayana sputtered out in-between gasps, her mind still trying to make sense of the chaos around her. She barely maintained her footing as the constant bombardments shook the floor beneath her. "We are all pawns to the Force's whim, and the Force is corrupt here."

Then the lady of House Farro began speaking. It was difficult to make out her words through the haze of it all, but that mattered not. Dayana could see the power vested inside the blade. "Just how long were you planning this?" she scoffed, not really expecting an answer.

Dayana flicked her lightsaber off and extended her free palm towards the dagger. Her fingers curled, contorted, as she manifested her power. Perhaps she could let the Force guide her but that was not the Sith way.

It was not her way.

It would be through her will that the dagger be thrown into the heart of the Emperor himself. Maybe Jun-Tsu had hoped to do it herself but Dayana would not seek forgiveness for using the tools before her. "None shall mourn you!" she bellowed before throwing her outstretched hand out towards the despot. With that motion, the dagger surged forth, hopefully ending this one and for all.

Unsure of how the mechanics of the knife work but I'd use the Advantage and Triumph to make it better.

The Emperor was quick in his defenses but the dagger guided by the will of Dayana and the Force struck true, the blade sinking into the Emperor as he looked down shocked at the thing.

Century upon century of planning to end like this seemed… intolerable.

Yet he dropped his lightsaber and fell to his knees and gripped the blade and then said mournfully, “So be it… you have doomed yourselves to failure.”

And then he exploded in dark side energy.

OOC: Daunting (2 red and 2 purple) Resilience check or suffer 20 wounds, gain a boost die for Dayana’s Force protection and an upgrade due to Vas-Tsu, but no longer gain protection from Battle Meditation as she is shielding herself as well.

Throwing up her arms in a block to protect herself from the blast, Shaisha stumbled back against the overwhelming force of the explosion.

Dayana's heart felt like it would burst as she watched the Emperor collapse. "I never wanted any of this," she murmured. Rightful or not, she had never wanted to involve herself so directly with the inner circle of the Empire. And now here she was, a slayer of tyrants, the people's executioner.

"We're all just pawns in a game beyond our comprehension."

Then the explosion hit her. She kept her palms up, trying to weather through the storm. "No, no, no!" she began to screech, all of her nightmares and terrors made manifest in her imagination. Her figure writhed as she collapsed at to her knees, clawing at her skin to try to fight off the immaterial locusts cutting away at her.

Jaheem felt joy flare in his soul as the dagger pierced this monster's heart. The Emporer was ended, an end of an era, an era of fear and waste and bigotry hopefully. Jaheem laughed when the Emporer accused them of failure "If you are dead then we have won even if we perish after." He may regret his words as the explosion hit him he tried to prepare himself but the energy tore through him, his body rocked but he kept his feet if just barely.

Though pain screamed through every nerve in his body a smile flitted onto his face. He may not have dealt the killing blow or even hurt the Emperor but he was a witness to a moment in history and was left standing when it all cleared.

Jaheem went to retrieve his saber from where the immortal had thrown it before they departed over the edge. he turned to the rest "Is it really over?" he voice was strained and tired.

[Jun-Tsu Farro]

It was as the Dark Side had willed. Jun-Tsu threw out her arms and embraced the onslaught of power. Interposed between the Emperor and her daughter, she did as well as she could to block such a torrent from striking at the small babe. Though more powerful than her mother by far, it did not matter, it was an instinct and a drive more primal more driving than anything in the universe, the desire of a mother to protect her young.

She was one with the Umbră-Ușoară, and the horrid blight of the Emperor could not touch her. Though her robes whipped violently in the blast, Jun-Tsu stood resolute against the onslaught, black eyes staring at the last moments of the abominable blast as his surrounded her, and yet, never touched her. Around, away, driven by all the combined efforts and powers arrayed to see them through.

And when the world had finally snapped back into view, and the roar of the Emperor's death song had ended, a great silence seemed to follow. Even as blasts rang out above, and screams of the masses called out below, it all seemed quieted to Jun-Tsu who only turned to see Vas-Tsu. It was as though only the two of them existed in that moment for her.

"Iz it done mein darhling?" She asked in a soft, maternal tone.

Remmington stands his ground as the Emperor erupts in an explosion of Dark Side energy. He casts a quick look over at the others. "Is everyone okay? Do we got any healers?"

He hears Jun-Tsu's question but he does not wish to take chances when the Emperor is involved. He walks over to see is the Emperor's body is still there or not. If it is, he will triple tap.
