[Remmington Thalalas]

"What happens to the failures?" Remmington asks.

[Xal Kimlya]

"It depends on the nature of the failure." he shrugged. "Some remain a part of the study, others are released and kept under observation, and a few simply don't survive."

[Remmington Thalalas]

"Ah. Hear I figured that all the failures would simply be destroyed." Remmington comments.

[Xal Kimlya]

He nodded. "If they can serve no purpose."

[Remmington Thalalas]

"I figured that it would just save on upkeep costs and it could be bad if a defective batch started passing their genetics on." Remmington comments.

[Xal Kimlya]

He nodded again. "Very true. But, failure doesn't necessarily mean defective. Often, it simply means the alterations were ineffective."

[Remmington Thalalas]

"I guess you have a point there. So what can you do with Sith alchemy on the Massassi that genetic alteration technology cannot?" Remmington asks.

[Xal Kimlya]

"Not much, unfortunately." he answered. "But, the knowledge does help in discerning better ways to tweak the massassi intelect."

[Remmington Thalalas]

Remmington nods. "That is good that there is some sort of precedent. How long do you think before the Massassi are up to an acceptable level?"

[Xal Kimlya]

"The biggest issue at the moment is the massassi themselves." he said. "Many of them see the project as unnatural and feel it goes against their beliefs, in spite of their queen's approval."

[Remmington Thalalas]

Remmington nods. "I can see that. We have been making changes to them at a very rapid pace. It has only been about 4-5 years so we first quelled them and brought them into our ranks."

[Xal Kimlya]

He nodded. "They have traditions, superstitions and tribal beliefs that make them reluctant to accept change. Change is inevitable, for all of us, but it will definitely take time for them to adapt."

[Remmington Thalalas]

Remmington nods. "The newer generations will probably have no issue with it but the base Massassi will probably need more time to get assimilated. Do you think that will be a problem?"

[Xal Kimlya]

"One way or another, I expect it will be done." he shrugged. "Hopefully, it will be the easier way."

[Remmington Thalalas]

Remmington nods. "That will be for the best. So that the Empire does not waste more resources than it needs to."
