[Day 9 - EA] Imperial Court: All Glory to the Empress

"I believe such projects may improve the integration of many species, including the massassi, allowing those loyal citizens who wish to serve the Empire in a greater capacity, the ability to do so." he explained. "I can prepare a full proposal of what I have in mind for you, but I do not wish to bore the court with the minutia. Or, draw Darth Baras away from more important matters."

"With this talk of war, I raise concerns over the security of our colonial worlds. The Dark Council, before its dissolution, had resolved to assign more resources to their aid.

"However, I imagine the military will require more funding to launch a new offensive. Not only that, manpower reserved for manning fortifications will surely be diverted elsewhere.

"These times of strife do not seem to be abating. In fact, they only seem to be intensifying. And so to summarize, my question is this: how will we maintain order in our own domain in the foreseeable conflicts?"

[Empress-Regent]

The Empress-Regent replied with a gesture to the gathered Sith, “We will call upon our Ministers of War to find a proper solution to safeguard the Empire and bring an end to conflict. Assuming Hoshi sees reason otherwise we will strike with the full force of our fleets and bring security by force.”

“We will leave it to the Ministers to see the Empress’ will done.” She turned her veiled gaze to Vengean briefly with a nod and then back to Dayana.

The Empress Dowager allowed a small black orb to roll over the palm of her hand, the bauble almost like a piece of raw darkness as she contemplated the issue raised by lady Valthren. Her matching, jet black eyes peered at the sphere as it moved about her hand with an almost hypnotic air. Silently she listened to the matters at hand with a contemplative, but detached expression.

Dayana thought of Marr, of Vengean, of Hoshi. Different philosophies, some dangerous. "Then I advocate this," she said, after contemplation, "Allow the colonial overseers to take command of any military forces assigned to their domains. This will garner the people's trust rather than relying on force alone."

“We will take such esteemed advice under advisement,” she responded.

"Very well," Dayana said, dipping her head and withdrawing. She did not like an answer without commitment but she found herself with little to leverage, at least publicly.

[Col. Hala Moraal]

"You are wise to be less than eager to put yourself to the fore. It is a moment of potential folly for many." He mused humorlessly as he watched the back and forth.

"Loose ends? On what account Colonel? If Bellious and Baras are to believed, the Eagle is dead and Malgus' allies are granted amnesty... what more do you seek?"

"The Eagle is not the network. With the head seemingly dealt with, there are still the roots to extract," she answered nebulously, "There is the possibility of a more complete solution, until I receive another assignment anyway."

"I would be glad to hear from you Colonel. Complete solutions are hard to come by... but if they exist they should be pursued."

Remmington watches the court with much interest. There is a lot of reform and convergences being set forth and many are offering their opinions for the future of the Empire. He continues to quietly eat his cake as he watches.

Empress-Regent gestured for her to come forward from the long line of supplicants.

Being gestured forward was recognition, of a sort. Lucinia's lips curled up, just a little, as she bowed. "My Empress." She said. "Empress-regent, Empress-mother."

She straightened. "The focus on spreading the influence of the Dark side pleases me. And your devotion to the Dark Side is unquestioned." Lucinia inclined her head respectfully. There was no irony in her voice; this much was entirely true.

Chin tilting up, she went on. "However, I am concerned that others may forget. With ministries turning towards war, statecraft, and security, there are those who might forget that those things are but tools to achieve our ends, not ends in themselves." She paused a moment, allowing for questions, reactions... or just a gesture to go on.
