[Pregame, LA, Ausar Estate] At Odds

"That is relaxing," she replied with a small grin. "Chipping away little by little at the mysteries of the universe. But I enjoy a variety of activities to relax. Fine wine, a good story, good food, good company... All rather difficult to get out on the fringes of the Empire, unfortunately. And yourself?"

[Jaheem Abasi]

Jaheem swirled his drink slowly and took a sip "I do not usually have much time to relax, my work with the inquisition keeps me quite busy most days and when there is not work to be done I train my mind or my body. Though when the odd free hour or two comes up I tend to read and perhaps, as you yourself said, find good company. Which I hate to inform you seems rather lacking here on Zoist much of the time, though this has not been unpleasant." he says with a dry chuckle and another sip though his smoldering eyes of red and bronze against black sclera looking at her over his glass.

"I had a feeling it would be something like that, given your comments about decadence in the Empire." She sighed. "I've noticed something of a dearth of it... Though there are plenty of test subjects farther into the center of the Empire, I'll give it that."

[Jaheem Abasi]

A dark eyebrow arched at that "Dare I ask test subjects for what?" He asked with a dry humor to his voice.

"A variety of things - everything has potential for inquiry and pushing the boundaries of knowledge farther. Sith lore, genetics, and psychology are my current subjects of interest," she replied with a smile, clearly enjoying her work.

[Jaheem Abasi]

Jaheem made a non committal thinking sound "I cant say I hold any interest for lore or genetics, one I had my fill of at the academy and the other I don't see much usefulness in my day to day life. But psychology." He paused "now that I know a bit of and have a vested professional interest in learning more about."

"It's a rather important discipline for a variety of reasons," she agreed. She tilted her head to the side. "I'm curious who your Master is, Lord Abasi."

[Jaheem Abasi]

Jaheem took a long drink and fixed her with his gaze, one most found a little unsettling and a bit intimidating his eyes seeming to shift and waver like a heatwave off the ground "I have no master, I slew him over a year ago and have not seen fit to find a new one since. Not that he didnt take a parting gift." the man said slipping a glove off to reveal a right hand that was made of a shiny black metal.

"Bold to be so direct about it," she replied, eye ridges rising. If she was unsettled by his eyes, she didn't show it outwardly. Whatever she had experienced had hardened her, despite the relaxed demeanor.

[Jaheem Abasi]

Jaheem shrugged "It is well known, it was a public duel which he initiated. There is no point being coy or deceptive. Besides I tend to be a rather direct person, both of our time is valuable, I find it best not to waste it talking in circles." He had not been attempting to intimidate her really it simply came naturally to him, he in fact had a small smile on his lips as he replaced his glove. "Who is it you call master Ms. Ausar." His tone was possibly a touch flirtatious as well as inquisitive.

"Fair enough. No one can complain about self-defense," she replied, nodding. She added with a small smirk. "Especially when you come out on top." Was there an emphasis somewhere in there? Who knew?

"Darth Zash, for now."

[Jaheem Abasi]

Jaheem nodded "indeed, though there is some fun to the struggle, seeing who has the superior will to dominate the other." While he was forthright about the events he did neglect to mention that he had been subtly pumping fear into his master's already slightly paranoid mind. He was not one for schemes but he was still a sith and somethings just had to be done a certain way.

"Ah Darth Zash, she has too many questions for my liking. You wouldnt happen to know if those rumors about her spending some time in republic space are true would you?" He asked casually while he took a sip of his drink.

[Raela Ausar]

"I was quite focused on my research at the time, I'm afraid," she replied with a small smile and a sip of her wine. "I don't know exactly what she was up to then."

[Jaheem Abasi]

Jaheem nodded "Of course, of course you are a rather diligent worker. I should have expected as much." He hadn't actually thought that she would reveal these things but he would be a neglectful investigator if he hadn't asked.

[Raela Ausar]

She smiled and chuckled softly. "Of course. I expected people to be curious, of course."

[Jaheem Abasi]

Jaheem finished his drink and set the glass on a nearby table. He gave Raela and smile as he stretched and then stood "Well as pleasant as your company is I do have other matters to attend to." his eyes took in her form for the first time, surveying all those curves her dress hugged before he retrieved his robes and donned them once more "Do think on my proposal, I think you would make a rather useful partner. We should up again soon for some more stimulating conversation."

She rose as she did, nodding with a small smile. "I'll think on it, and we can reconvene in a couple of days, say?"

He nods a small smile of his own as he gave her a short bow "It has been a pleasure Ms. Ausar, I look forward to our next meeting." He turned with a flourish of his robes rippling down as a servant open the door and he made his.....
