She began gathering her things and stood up from the desk.

"Just water," he said with a frown.

"Sure," said the colonel before stepping out the door. Watcher Seven returned to the observation room where she had left Watcher Five.

"The Raptor may be related to the Temple, but he pleads general ignorance. That said, he seems like the type that make up things if threatened. Perhaps we should just share the information you thought we could set aside as a gesture and retire him on schedule. Who knows what he would say to the military when threatened with execution... Chasing fake leads would be a waste of time."

“That could work to our advantage, keeping the Military Intelligence chasing ghosts keeps them from making a mess of this current operation. I do agree that retirement is needed, he said as a droid brought in water for the man.

“The Raptor has ties to Imperial nobility, I have built a profile based on classified data. Wealthy, bored, working with terrorist group provides distraction from said boredom and malaise. Loyalty to the cause is questionable, which means high possibility of being able to flip the asset to our cause,” he added as the man in the room laid his head down.

“The Hunter, this Malam Gil, is proving to be an elusive target and a familiar one. I need to consult pass operations over the last five years. I might have actually forgotten something, that is an odd sensation,” he said curiously.

"They could chase ghosts if we simply give them more of the raw data and allow them to draw their own, potentially erroneous conclusions," mused Watcher Seven.

"I concur about supporters, as well as turning targets into assets. Failing to do so as a matter of policy is wasteful..... I have no operational knowledge of a Malam Gil. Please alert me if you or one of your Fixers comes across the missing information. To be disconcerting to you means it may be important. The Colonel can tap Lieutenant Rook to detain Gil for an interview. As for the Temple.... Colonel Moraal is an option but even out of uniform she may be at too great a risk of detection. Do you have an Agent available for tasking, or should I attempt to develop an asset to handle on premise surveillance?"

"Develop an asset," he responded.

"As for Malam Gil, just be cautious."

She nodded thoughtfully, making a general noise of agreement.

"I don't suppose you have a slicer in custody. On something unrelated to sedition. That would save me the trouble of needing to post some innocuous bounty on commercial information for all clubs in the area of the Eclipse in the hopes that someone turns up what we need? Or some kind of sneakthief or brigand with skill at making inconspicuous entries?"

“We have assets we can activate, freelancers that may fit the operation better than internally developed agents. Also disposable,” he responded.

“What did you need and I can produce a list.”

"Someone reliable who will do the job rather than tip their hand to the Eagle. An infiltrator to go in, access as many areas as possible without detection, and introduce something compromising so we can access their networks and then a slicer to run through the necessary intrusions," she said while trying to work on the solve.

"Priority is operational security over more information. Clandestine, without detection. If they are spooked, they may become more defensive or relocate entirely."

“I could provide a list but to meet those qualifications you will want to recruit Asset Zim and Asset Vita, they are aliens with criminal pasts that we have contracted in the past. Professional, reliable, and disposable; Zim is essentially a confidence man and burglar and Vita is a top-class slicer;” he responded.

"If you would please forward their contact information to me, I can extend an offer to them later this evening," she said with a nod, "It sounds like Zim and Vita would be excellent candidates for the next phase of this operation."

"I calculated that would be the case, so I took the liberty of sending you what you needed during the interrogation," he said.

"I appreciate the forethought and efficiency," replied Watcher Seven.

She gave a dip of her head and then smiled.

"Time to be the colonel again, be seeing you."
